On the one hand: We look like ass, and we've looked like ass almost the whole season. Panarin is very clearly not himself, Strome sucks ass, Kreider is in the midst of his yearly hot streak and we know how those go, & Laf, Kakko, & Nils have been invisible or worse

On the other hand: we're 7-3-3, tied for 4th in the league in points (behind only EDM, CAR, and FLA, the last of whom we just beat in reg.)

Despite my drunken anger after last game, i genuinely don't know what to think of this team. Will they regress towards the level they've been playing at? Or will they regress their play towards what their record says?

Gallant wasn't happy about the 3rd but they played well for about 18 minutes of it. The other 2, yikes. Florida is really good and we may have just played 3 of the best teams in the league the last 4 days. I'll throw Carolina in there also.

Look analytics tell a story but that’s all they do. They don’t equate to points in the standings. They don’t take into account playing 3 games more than everyone else in your division or 9 of 12 on. The road.

so at the end of this nightmare schedule we’re 7-3-3 and it doesn’t matter what the analytics say we did to get there. We can come back in 4 days and play some good hockey like we did after the last couple days we had off.
