I'm happy they are 7-3-3, the process getting to that isn't good so far.

The 2013-14 rangers were 19-19-2 through 40 games. Learning a new system isn't easy. It takes time. They haven't dug a hole in the standing, which is huge.

This week is crucial. No games until Saturday. Lots of practice time. That is key in learning what Gallant wants. I'm glad he isn't happy, he shouldn't be.

Shesterkin is the real deal. We have a backbone in net. We have an elite 1D. We have a 1C that isn't clicking, but still producing. Kreider looks like a 1st liner again.

The biggest thing is Lafreniere and Kakko getting confidence within the system. If that happens, the sky is the limit.

In spite of the team being caved, they are in a decent spot record wise. If they can figure this out, this is a playoff team.

I was pissed against the Leafs when they didn't challenge but thought this was the right call. If it stood it was 4-1 with a good chance to become 4-2 in the beginning of the period. Not sure I'd risk that.

Yeah, knowing this f'ing league and it's horrible officiating nothing is guaranteed with a challenge and being up 4-1 I can understand why he didn't challenge.

Couldn’t catch the game tonight. Watched the highlights. Did Laf not play? I didn’t notice him at all in any highlight lol
Did Laf play?

Kakko was good. Did you see Kakko almost score 69 times?

They were also like 3-7 in 2013-14.

Are we just gonna give up a million shots a game. Igor ain't gonna last a full season with this work load. Also that 3rd goal hit a skate in front, won't blame that on him...and God Kakko just can't catch a damn break, he really has great hands though....those late goals put a damper on the win but nice to give Florida their first regulation loss.

This is the first game he faced 40 shots though.

The problem with the blue line turnovers is that the top 6 cannot win a dump and chase battle so they're sort of forced to try to create space with an E W pass at the blue line because they'll just give the puck away if they dump it in anyways. It's a lose-lose situation. I think Drury is going to have to step in with a trade unless some miracle happens and our top 6 players become good at the dump and the chase and not just the dump. If the other team knows we can't win a dump and chase they can just stack the blue line. The few times the top 6 creates chances at 5v5 is usually on the rush. Unfortunately, no one on our second line can be considered fast. It's up to Panarin to try to thread a pass to maintain possession when they enter the zone. I think it's a major reason this team can be shut down easily by other teams when they decide it's time to play playoff hockey. We're just way too one dimensional up top.
Totally agree

Eh i dunno, just thought that was a very easy reversal call for the refs if they had the chance to review it.especially after the reversal earlier for the panthers.

13 games

only one other team in our division has played more than 10 thats Washington with 12

everyone else 10 games.

this schedule has been absolutely horrible. 9 of 13 on the road. 2 of the 4 home games are coming off long road trips.

the only other team that’s played 9 road games is the islanders and they are struggling thru right now as well

I want to see this team get some rest these next couple days get a couple good practices in and be ready to go thru the next stretch.
Good stuff

40 shots from a team that was unbeaten before tonight and came in on a high thinking "If the Oilers and Flames can put 11 past these garbanzos let's just shoot-on-sight and ride our form....."

I'm pissed at the losses in Edmonton and Calgary but I'll take this W and crow about it.

Looked to me like it ticked off Mamons skate and changed direction slightly. Think thats why he pleaded to the ref after

Our defense is too skinny …

Fox Lindgren KAM - not a muscle to be found

we need a Scott mayfield - a Pulluck - box out defensemen …

Too many times our crease looks like the jets o line pass blocking .

They aren't skinny. They're [Welsh] wiry [/Welsh]. Also, it's run blocking that the Jets' line can't do for shit. The pass blocking has actually been alright.

What are your guys' thoughts on Igor not coming out for first star? Disrespectful to the fans or positive competitive fire?

Depends on the reason. If he was getting treatment/IV hydration or something, I'm not concerned in the least. If it was because he was mad at either himself or his teammates? There's a fine line. That could be a sign of competitive fire, but competitive fire can easily get out of control. It reminds me a little bit of the whole "Lias chucking his silver medal into the crowd" thing. At the time, there were folks who saw that as potential captain behavior (ie: 2nd isn't good enough kind of competitive drive). It turned out to be a red flag of an entitled player. I don't think we have enough information right now to judge one way or the other re: Shesty not coming out. I will say that I've never seen that happen before.

I actually thought of the Lias incident. I figured he was mad at himself and not teammates.

I agree our top 6 is doing really bad at winning puck battles and gaining possession off of the forecheck.

Zibby looked particularly bad at it tonight. And Panarin and Strome also are a huge mixed bag.

I am more than a tad worried we are playing the wrong style to find success with this group. Certainly not playing to its strengths it seems. So instead its just a war of wills between the top 6 and the coach.

Hope it sent a message to the locker room. As a fan I’m happy with his overall individual performance but I bet he’s not exactly sweet on having faced more rubber than a back alley hooker…

After that last collision he was flexing his leg. I think the way that game ended the whole team looked kinda ticked off and not happy despite beating an undefeated team.

Yeah but goals like that third one make me less confident in saying that. The reason we all hate Georgiev is because he gives up goals like that. Now I wonder would Shesterkin have had the same collapse against Edmonton? I was sure he wouldn't have on Friday and now I don't know.
