Florida is 1991-92 Rangers good. For those young ones that means a fun high energy octane team in the regular season with plenty of talent and depth, but the playoffs are going to be a different story. And 1991-92 is probably my favorite regular season as a fan. They need more grit and faceoff help.

I know Kaako had an assist taken away but I liked the overall games of him/Laf/Nils. All were noticeable and contributed. I have a feeling once the schedule gets easier you'll see some better production and multi point games out of them.

Could I interest you in some Per Djoos? I still have an OGrodnick jersey.

While people are being quite negative you can see that the team and the players understand that this isn’t a maintainable course of play.

Im glad we are stealing points but it won’t matter three months from now if this team doesn’t figure out how to play hockey and actually control some games.

We played a solid 57 minute game. We are getting there!

Seriously, some people in the GDT saying we suck for giving up those two goals late... embarrassing stuff to read tbh.

I have to think some of these people are bratty teenagers from out on the island, right? All they do is bitch.

I don’t know. The faceoffs might be an issue for them but I see a pretty complete team. The way that team crashes the net makes me think they won’t have too many problems scoring in the playoffs.

Ok so im guessing it went down hill after the first a bit did it because i thought considering the opponent we had a good first. Its hard not to be negative, especially after the calgary game but for me i dont think we have played anywhere close to how we can play. I also dont think Panarin, Strome, Zibanejad forgot how to play hockey as well i dont think Kakko and Laf are busts. I also dont think Goodrow or Blais have been themselves yet either. Positives are that our 4th line looks legit, i was never a rooney fan but he has converted me. So having said all that, when our most consistant players become consistant again and the kids finally take a step we should be a decent team in my estimation but looking at the stats we really gotta start limiting shots against.

They need to get some practice time in before Saturday. They must clean up the turnovers at the opponents' blue line and clean up getting two forecheckers caught deep. Opponents are easily gaining our zone predominantly because of these two deficiencies. They really should try a one man forecheck so that if the guy does not win the chase to the puck, you still have numbers on the backcheck. They're getting caught on the two-man forecheck that's one to two steps slow almost every single time and that's giving the other team easy breakouts and leaving huge swaths of neutral zone open. The horses just aren't doing things or moving fast enough for an aggressive forecheck system to work right now.

I went back and watched the last 6 min and I thought the Rangers did a lot of good things.

Reaves lost his stick and the Panthers had an easy entry before Reinhart wired one over Igor’s glove. They are a very skilled team.

There were a few bad bounces and the Mika missed the puck and it was a weird shot that got through Igor. I don’t think there was a “collapse” really.

However you want to cut it they need to be tighter there.

I also don’t know what the hell the refs saw to call a delayed penalty at the end of the game .

Wasn't able to watch the game tonight, but saw the shot numbers and I'm curious if this is another game that Igor stole for them

laf played really, really well. was on the puck a lot more, covered way more ice than usual and physically engaged. points will come from playing like this

nils looked competent, major improvement tonight, hopefully it sticks / trends up because hes been horrific

poor kakko. didn't love his game, but more that line just stinks. panarin has been a nightmare with turnovers in awful spots and they spend way too much time hemmed in getting shelled. just not a good fit for kakko, feel like he could take off w/ mika/kreider

k'andre - jesus. but he needs to use that skating more...not gonna get those too many times a year but he should take a couple rushes up ice per game, he's so unique / hard to defend. on a team thats lacking explosive puck carriers that disrupt defensive structure, his ability to do that more regularly would be a big boost.

igor is a god. but jfc the refs called open season on him. i thought this team was gonna defend each other. thats your best player getting run, bowled over, whacked after so many whistles, getting late whistles with sticks jamming him...unbelievable nothing called. but if youre his teammate already leaving him hanging out to dry all night with shots wtf are you doing not taking that into your own hands. same with gallant, how is he not blasting the refs. thats your best player, without him you have max 2 wins right now. how do they not protect him? embarrassing

11:15 left in the 1st period, Key makes a sweet little move on the wall to move the puck into the offensive zone. you can absolutely tell he's been watching McDavid tape :sarcasm:
Yeah after that play you could tell he was on his A-game tonight. Foreshadowed his goal later on.

The problem with the blue line turnovers is that the top 6 cannot win a dump and chase battle so they're sort of forced to try to create space with an E W pass at the blue line because they'll just give the puck away if they dump it in anyways. It's a lose-lose situation. I think Drury is going to have to step in with a trade unless some miracle happens and our top 6 players become good at the dump and the chase and not just the dump. If the other team knows we can't win a dump and chase they can just stack the blue line. The few times the top 6 creates chances at 5v5 is usually on the rush. Unfortunately, no one on our second line can be considered fast. It's up to Panarin to try to thread a pass to maintain possession when they enter the zone. I think it's a major reason this team can be shut down easily by other teams when they decide it's time to play playoff hockey. We're just way too one dimensional up top.

Man Igor is amazing. Shame on the coaching staff for not challenging that first goal. ZERO chance that is allowed after review. Whoever is in charge of that should lose their job, no joke.

I was pissed against the Leafs when they didn't challenge but thought this was the right call. If it stood it was 4-1 with a good chance to become 4-2 in the beginning of the period. Not sure I'd risk that.

Someone should tell him two points is two points and he’s not allowed to complain.

A coach should always err on the side of "we have things to fix". Different from making this board unreadable talking about how terrible this team is. I criticized Igor's play late, but that's one player. I'm not posting every day about how terrible we are.
