i thought the game was actually pretty good. very exciting in the 2nd and 3rd period. great performances by Miller, Trouba and Fox of course. Actually, Fox was insanely good tonight. Maybe one of his best games as a Ranger. He looks even better than last year. Landing a player like Fox feels like we won a draft lottery by doing almost nothing. It helps offset a lot of the misfortunes that we've had to endure lately.

To be fair, they should have lost that game in regulation on that crazy chance right after the failed PP. I think it hit the post and the crossbar?

I am encouraged by the pushback after going down 2-0. They looked dominant.

I have to believe Panarin and Zib will come around.

Kakko looks great. Still can’t score. We’re in year three of this now. Things do feel and look different this year but elite scorer becomes an unlikelier outcome with every passing “snake bitten” game.

I will continue to withhold my Laf takes.

Yeah, I actually thought Miller had a very good game in addition to Trouba. Our D units in general looked fairly strong. The transition game was waaaaaay better.

The forwards are still sorting out how to play. And chemistry

Finally woke up in the second. I thought that was a playoff like effort in that momentum swing.

Hopefully they take something from that. Simple plays. They are skilled enough to keep a team hemmed in like that and get chances, draw a penalty or score a goal.

Fox was amazing. I mean could there be yet another level to his game? f***in scary.

I thought both Miller and Trouba played well and were engaged. Especially Miller.

Liked Nemeths game. Steady and sturdy in front of the net.

Nils definitely had the jitters but will be a sneaky effective player for this team if he’s given the time to grow into the NHL game.

Kakko could already have 3 goals this season. Hoping he and Zib get one next game.

Reaves definitely helps break up the lackadaisical moments where the team falls asleep for a few shifts. That’s valuable, especially on home ice. The crowd knows he’s out there and he will pick up on this.

Goat was the one wearing Harry’s invisibility cloak

Didn’t see too much from Goodrow to yield much of an impact. Question: it could be a matchup thing but if he’s on the ice taking draws in the d zone with a min left he should take all of them no matter when and where they are, right?

I really hate OTs when we lose.

When they aren’t on their game defensively they back in too much in the neutral zone and lose their gaps. Also need to cut down on the odd man rushes

Hank is awesome and is a natural. Absolutely love him on the telecast. Tonight put TNT to shame from
front to back

What was worse than the losing in OT was the two bros trying to get a f*ck Joe Biden chant going after the game, and the asshole who was screaming f*ck the democrats on top of his lungs and pushing people on his way to 7th avenue (was a boomer). Never been more embarrassed in my life.

Yeah, had some assholes doing that in Sections 227 too during the game. Keep f***ing politics out of the game!!

I’m so tired of the “got a point at least”. That’s a game good teams win. Your home opener, ceremony for one of the greatest players in the franchises history, you outplay them for 40 minutes…and it’s “at least we got a point?” God our fanbase is full of turkeys

Expect more! The ownership and FO certainly do. It’s not good enough. Now, we have a 4 game road trip. I can’t wait to see what’s in store! I bet it’s more positive analytics for our you g players without actual, you know, production. We will get a shit performance from Gerorgiev for sure.

Speaking of tired of sayings. "That's a game good teams win" is one of those sayings. Believe it or not good teams sometimes lose and sometimes lose bad.

Game #2. Shall we back up from the edge of the cliff plz fellas? A lot of good to take away from tonight from the reconstructed team which we are.

What was the consensus about Nils's play tonight?
Uneven.

He was really, really bad to start. Like fumbling the puck repeatedly and getting absolutely roasted for the first GA.

He settled into OK during the second half of the hand. Got a few shots through. Didn’t make anymore egregious mistakes.

I could have done without that goal against. He played it as badly as you can play it. But it’s his first game - all good.
