Bro literally skated side by side with him. Like I don’t think I’ve seen such a shitty effort like that before.
If he went after him it was a super easy pass to the trailer for a breakaway.

He tried to play the pass and the shot...he took away the pass but not the shot

When defending a 2 on 1...which is what that was..you take the pass and give the goalie the shooter...that's effectively what he did.

Yes. It's not. But as someone staded, this team is not that good that we can leave points like this. This should have been 2 points. The Metro will be tough and before the season I predicted that it will be only by a couple of points that we either make or not make the playoffs. These points are massively important.

Every game is important and they should have won this game but again it's a marathon. The team was a lot better tonight.

I think he played it really well considering he was all alone. I think he may have ticked the shot a touch which may have made it harder for Shesty. But I def don't blame Trouba who was our second best player tonight.

Playoffs are important but as long as they are within those few points and not a total bottom feeder the year won't be a wash. Too many teams are and will prove to be better and more complete but it won't always be that way. Our window to compete will be quite short but we will get one or two good shots at it.

What was worse than the losing in OT was the two bros trying to get a f*ck Joe Biden chant going after the game, and the asshole who was screaming f*ck the democrats on top of his lungs and pushing people on his way to 7th avenue (was a boomer). Never been more embarrassed in my life.

I see we were walking out at the same time. That was painful indeed.

Completely agree. I go out of my way to see what he's up to and I'm still not impressed. He's kinda "there" and thats about it

...and yes I did watch a lot of lightning games (in person and on TV) since I live in FL

Goodrow is a much more valuable player when his team has a lead. Holding leads...not chasing them...is his skill set.

Didn't the Hurricanes have a game tonight?

Strome and Panarin haven't bothered to come back into their own zone more than twice total in two games. You cannot put them with Blais who glides around following the puck in his own zone. It will be a disaster.

We got all these new forwards and we still lack enough defensively sound forwards to have a balanced lineup.

Kreider, Mika, Blais
Panarin Strome Goodrow
Chytil, Kakko, Gauthier
Hunt Rooney, Reaves

Not sure where Laf belongs. He isn't playing the right way. Until he starts taking a hit to make a play in the corners, I really don't know what to do with him. Tonight was a perfect example of this. A play that led to a really bad breakdown on a line change.

I'm having the same issue with Strome and Panarin too. They are letting the team down with their lack of effort in the backcheck.

Everyone blames Panarin and Trouba for the OT goal -- where was Strome? I'm not blaming him because maybe he went deep and had no chance after the turnover but i really haven't liked his lack of D. Our vets need to lead by example.

Im not sure if Blais would be a good fit with Kreider and Mika either. Not worried about Panarin and Strome is always ass early in the season. Where do you fit in Laf?

He's a new voice and he kinda has to give the vets enough leeway to plead their cases or he'll lose their respect. Unfortunately we all have been there done that as fans and have to suffer through the weeding out process again.

And i'm saying that as someone who is remaining skeptical about GG. He still deserves the benefit of doubt, it's just frustrating because we just did this with DQ.
This is a very good point. Gallant must allow the vets to do things their way… give them rope and let them sort of hang themselves. He has to fix these issues one by one. He can’t just shake everything up. It’s probably impossible. But even if it were possible it would be walking a tightrope. If there’s change coming, it’s going to take some time.

Team looked great after the goal gave them a boost. Igor wasn't bad but it comes down to being out-goaltended. Both Dallas goaltenders played great.

I don't know where Blais fits either. I think he needs to be on a line with a winger or center who is responsible. That's why he tends to end up on bottom six.

Strome is really the issue IMO. If he could be relied on defensively the team would be a lot more sound.

As for Laf I'm at a loss. I mean - they are letting him "work through it" but does he know what he's working towards? Is anyone working with him to stop gliding? He has to just go go go and take a hit to make a play. He's got to crash the net and put himself in positions to accept passes.

the thing with laf is, he has so much skill with his hands and he has decent size and it made him look brilliant in juniors. Here, he has got to add a lot to his game and refine it so he use that skill. He hasn't figured it out yet and I'm not sure where he's going to figure it out. Taking a spot in the NHL or in the A?
