I fell asleep after the second because our kids wear me out. So this morning is the first I’m hearing of this.

I don’t really know what to say. This f***ing sucks, especially with how hard he worked to get back and with how dark of a place he was in the first time. I hope it’s not as bad as they think, but they sure don’t sound optimistic.

@Lempo The future considerations were that the poor man's achilles was haunted.

The only team and fan upsides are the timing allowing us to sort things out and that we got him for free anyways. I hope he comes through all this well and stays in as good of a place mentally as he can, regardless of hockey.

I hope I'm wrong but I"ll be surprised if this isn't the end of his career. Don't see how he'd trust that another surgery would hold up enough to play again. And his contract value had to have gone down significantly given how much riskier it would be for any team to sign him going forwward.

Again, I hope I'm wrong.

This was the exact first thing I thought when I saw him down in the corner last night.

Even if he trusts the surgery, I don't see how any front office would trust it. If he comes back, and that's probably a huge if, he'll need to take a cheap 1 year prove it deal just to show he can remain healthy.

Perhaps a cheap one year but with various bonuses for games played.

I suspect he’ll stay here on a ridiculously cheap contract next year and give it another shot. He’s not that old. Feel terrible for him though

maybe he should have stayed in rehab till late Feb like it was once Predicted , never been a fan of his since he played for the Habs lol , but i do wish he comes back and play again , too young to retire , i would be ok sign him to a 750-1M salary next year with the promise to sign him to his proper valu the next2-3 years after

Well they didn’t handle it that way, he did. Rod himself has said Anderson could’ve played earlier but didn’t want to, and it seemed to be a frustrating topic at times. I don’t think we can use Anderson as the example.
Sounds like Andersen did the right thing, then. Compared to the start of the season, he looks fully healthy and rejuvenated. Since his return, he has made both Pyotr and Anti look very second rate. I'm glad he took the time he needed to get fully healthy.....(don't you do it universe!!!)....and didn't rush back too soon to reinjure himself.

that's a lot of rehab ahead (again).....sometimes folks reach the no mas stage in their career, particularly after so many recent injuries. If he retires, I hope he stays in the Triangle and stays invested with the Canes.
