I’m almost 100% certain that Tripp let it slip in the last game or the one before that he’d be ready to play by New Year’s Day. I guess we’ll soon find out.

Given the Canes overall attitude towards bringing injured players back, and sitting on the 2nd best record in the NHL, I'm not worried that the team will bring Patches back too soon, at least from a risk perspective. Only question in my mind is how best to get him back to 100% game shape, and I'll defer to the team on that one, as well.

No call up to replace Noesen so far. Patches getting closer


Wolves aren't playing until Friday, so no reason to delay calling up Drury or someone else if needed.

I wonder if the patience with Pacioretty was a combination of a healthy set of 12 forwards and not disturbing the streak. Neither are now the case. Wouldn't be surprised to see Pacioretty tomorrow in place of Noesen.
