Pacioretty to F26:

thanks....good read. Sounds like he'll fit right in with Rod.

"This guy's worked his tail off," Canes Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Bill Burniston, who assisted intimately with Pacioretty in his recovery, shared. "I'm serious, he has worked his butt off. With him, it's been more of having to pull him back than it's been pushing him. He's wanted to keep doing more and more to try and get back, but we have to make sure we do it right."

How intent has #67 been in his comeback?

"He had his surgery on August 9. He was sending me pictures and videos of him doing arm exercises at home on August 10," Burniston continued.

The question is: how well will he be able to play without his butt?

Definitely good to read. And while he might be one of those guys that doesn't miss much of a beat, it's also a good reminder not to freak out if he's only got a goal and an assist in his first ten games or something. It could be a process.

That said, I expect four points in his debut like Vasicek did when coming back against Washington in 2006.

Both he and Rod said as much in the article. Both said he's not going to be 100% from the get go.

RBA: "I know it's going to take time when he does get in there. He's not going to slot in right away and be where I think it will end up. It'll be baby steps as we go to get his feet wet."

Pacioretty: "I feel really good. I know it's not going to be a situation where I start playing and everything is going to be 100%. It's going to take a little bit. The good news is that there are measurements to see where I'm at in comparison to where I was a year ago, so as I get closer to those things it will only be more exciting and help build my confidence."

Of course, that won't stop the usual suspects from throwing a fit if he comes along slowly.

And he'll score them all on the PP.

My guess is he steps in on the 4th line next to KK and Stepan/Noesen (if all healthy, Stepan sits, but maybe Noesen is hurt) and takes his time. That won't stop him from positively contributing to the team on the PP fairly immediately though.
