is he off to wjc camp?
Anyone know why Beck is not in the lineup today?
Probably. Mesar and rehkopf are not playing today either.is he off to wjc camp?
Owen Beck not in the lineup for the Petes today...Don't know if it's injury, illness or if he's with Team Canada already
Beck is not dressed for today's world junior exhibition game. That means either he's injured, or he already made the team.

They only invited 30 players to camp, so the guys that are still competing for a spot will play both games. He played last night.. but yes, he's a virtual lock.. he's the only returning player. Chances are he will wear the C.
I’d say so.Beck is 100% a lock, he was on the team going in, baring an injury. He's team canada at the WJHC 101, they always love guys like him.
I see a little Mike Richards in his game just not as feisty. Beck is going to be a solid proA lot of comparisons in this thread, personally I see a lot of JG Pageau in him.
Hope he gets the C and has a strong tournament, feel like that would give him a lot to build off of for the remainder of the season and into the beginning of his pro career next year.
Beck is a much more dynamic skater than Richards and his shot off the rush is far superior.I see a little Mike Richards in his game just not as feisty. Beck is going to be a solid pro

So does Team Canada.Really want this kid to have a great WJC!!
Beck out of Peterborough would be an absolute dream.
Why? Becase Petes play a pro style and he doesn't get enough points? That won't help him in his development for the next level. Beck projects as a 2 way player - ceiling 3rd line. Better that he continues to develop his faceoff PK skills since that is the role he will be most useful with the Habs. He will never play ahead of Suzuki or Dach.

Beck needs to develop as much offensive skill as he can while in junior.
Because even so-called two-way forwards need to be able to produce offense, and 30-point 3rd liners are more valuable than 20-point 3rd liners. In fact, the former are valuable, the latter are not.
By the way you're part of the problem, you use the term "two way forward" when you mean "purely defensive forward".
