Good oooold Sens sh1tting the bed in a game like this after scrapping out a win against a Team who had no interest in playing any hockey on a season opener lol

I thought it was a great effort from both teams. You have to hand it to Montreal; Saturday night in their barn, of course they're going to bring their A game. The story was Montembault. He shut us the F down. I was impressed with their whole team.

Some positives: Gregor was excellent on the 2nd line. Thought he complemented Norris and Batherson beautifully. Stutzle and Pinto were also good.

Negatives: Didn't like Chabot's game. He should be better, not sure why he's becoming so average. And didn't like Giroux's game. He wasn't fast enough to get into prime shooting spots.

Green is gonna be a dud. You know it, I know it. He was the wrong choice by Dull Steve when you had buys like Bérubé and Julien available
We weren’t getting Berube but I don’t think Green was even a top 10 choice. His one good season in Vancouver was literally him getting bailed out by Demko and Markstrom. He also pretty much destroyed NJ’s defensive analytics when he got promoted there.

I really think his stuff about conditioning and being in shape to start camp got Staios to buy in.

I appreciate they are trying something different, but I'm not a fan of having Tkachuk high slot on the PP. He got fed a few nice pucks but he just does not have the shot to be the guy finishing from there.

Your gimmick died in 2012 bro and you're still running with it. Get a grip buddy.

Wait? That's not actually 2 Chains?

You guys all need to be nicer to each other. We are two games into the season and these threads are cattier than how I'd imagine the Sens wives section is.

By game 53, it's just going to be two dozen people all on each others ignore lists talking to Aragorn, because none of us would block him since he is an institution here.

Some (stupidly) seem to think that I am happy with this. It makes me despise Dorion even more. We should have been competing all these years the Habs were/are rebuilding and now we are facing the humiliation that they make the playoffs and start winning before us. It would be the same thing if it was the Leafs. Habs and Leafs are the Sens "natural" rivals. We need to be better than them and it's not happening. I am about to build myself a Dorion punching bag or a darts target like in movies lol

What? We had better possession at ES but we struggled to create grade A chances. And outside of a good 2nd period, it was an adventure in our zone at times. Overall, we got beat pretty clean.
Dude, its the little brother syndrome and insecurities out in full force on here - they think you/me etc are happy about this because we think MTL is building a better team and they are supposed to be our rivals and have bigger fanbases/markets.

All summer long people had the blinders on and thought Hutson/Caufield etc were hot garbage but they learned today.

Had a good first couple of minutes, but quickly went downhill. Seems like they spent a large part of the game a step behind, passes hopping over sticks or hitting a skate, often limited to the perimeter when they were in the offensive zone. Not good. Every last one of them needs to be sharper. Disappointing, to say the least.

Brush it off and move on.

Serious lack of team speed, the fact there was zero push back and Montréal just took the puck away from us and we didn’t get it back all game is a massive worry.

We really needed to bank points against an opponent that we should, theoretically, be able to beat comfortably. The rest of October is Kings, Devils, Lightning, Utah (road), Vegas (road), Avalanche (road), St Louis...you could make a very reasonable argument that we only win 1 of those games and maybe get 1 of them to OT.

Very worrying and too reminiscent of past seasons. Obviously a coaching change and an influx of "character" players isn't an immediate fix, but I had hoped that it would have been enough to generate a bit more compete against a major rival in the second game of the season. We need to figure it out quick.

At least Stü seems to be shooting the puck properly.

Rangers on 1 Nov as well. Hell of a first 10 games. Only gets a bit easier after that point. The bright side of the schedule is we've only got one back-to-back through October and November.

Again, what the f*** was that ridiculous penalty shot call?

That goober idiot ref was out of control all god damn night. That wasn't even a penalty let alone a penalty shot. Absolutely insane Montreal bullshit on display with that one.

I know there's a lot of peer pressure to be a complete window licking dunce in a building full of Hab fans, but do your f***ing job.

I thought penalty shot calls were reviewable

Matheson's a magician. He doesn't need to have possession of the puck to score.

You ladies need to relax a bit.

We got all the Sens fans who live in Montreal turning on each other, Adrianopussless popping up in the thread like an unwanted genital wart, Travis Green on the chopping block, Hamonic being ostracized.
Take your menstrual pills and step away from the ledge.

Some of you were high as a kite after game one pumping your tits and planning the parade. Complete 180 after game 2. Long season. Lots of ebs and flows.

Let's at least wait until game 5 to panic
I really want to agree with you on this, but, I saw waaaaaay too many comparisons in the game last night compared to last season. Old, DJ habits etc. The new guys almost looked like they followed last year's script as well. I hope this is a one-off for the next 5 games or so. Otherwise, all our dreams are once again shattered in November and the Vezina-winning goalie is going to lose his cool and demand a trade by next year. Sigh.

I generally agree. Harmonic really does have to be ostracized though.

Not fixing the autocorrect because he doesn’t deserve proper spelling of his name
