If low attendance continues in spite of quality ownership through Andlauer, your theory goes out the window. It does become a reflection of the fan base. There is still time for the numbers to go up, and a lag was to be expected, but at some point the fanbase has to put its money where its mouth is.Attendance Is a reflection of ownership, not the fans. You have good ownership that fits your commutnity, you’ll have good attendance. Whatever profit numbers the NHL owners have - DONT CARE. f*** you and your entitled attitude to my pocket book
I just don’t think if we were leading the division that selling out would matter to anyone. Who cares? Like who actually gives a flying f*** if there were 16 000 or 18500 fans there yesterday? Great game, fun to watch, wasn’t there, I enjoyed it.
low attendance It’s a way for the media to beat up in the fans when they all the media get free tickets, and they do it because it scratches at the fragile ego of Ottawa people, because we think people on the rest of the country will think we aren’t loyal enough. Screw that weak line of thinking, if you want to go to a game, go, and if not, don’t go, you’re still a great fan.
Think it says a lot they are building smaller arenas then even 10 years ago. And much smaller.
I don't understand your argument. What do you mean "no one cares about attendance?"
If we want the owner to spend to the cap, fans have to do their part and pack the building. What message does it send to the owner to have a three quarter full arena? Yes it's expensive, but you either want an NHL team or not.
Fans still need to show up in better numbers,

Also, fans aren't all the same. Some are active investors in the team through ticket packages, corporate advertising deals, etc. Others stay home. At an individual level everyone makes choices and has their reasons. As a fanbase, however, there needs to be significant enough investment into the organization to justify icing a competitive team and producing an elevated gameday experience.
I'll have to remember to check back on them - which I'll forget to do, of course, because that doesn't really sound too impressive to be honest.Robert Thomas is injured and is by far their best player.
Buchnevich is a pretty good 2-way player, Kyrou is a mini offensive dynamo. Neighbors is young and has shown he can score goals. They just stole Holloway and Broberg who both have upside. Perunovich should also be good. Joel Hofer has shown some good stuff so far in the NHL, it wasn't his best game last night but he was also left out to dry.
They have some solid vets like Schenn, Parayko, Saad, Faulk, Joseph, Binnington.
They also have some pretty good prospects in Jimmy Snuggerud, Dalibor Dvorsky, Adam Jiricek, Otto Stenberg, Theo Lindstein and Zachary Bolduc
They just had a bad game while we played a pretty good game
Imagine having Sanderson the Great and Stu on the same PP? Goodness friggin gracious.Hope they keep this cooking through November
I like (and hate) how each of those units has an ex-Senator on it.Hope they keep this cooking through November

Nothing beats watching a game live at the arena.Apparently the NFL can do it with viewership.
Maybe we can spread the idea that it's the cool thing to watch the sens game on tv. Have sens game parties with your friends. Get traditions going where all the casuals around you will start to watch every game rather than every 4th game.
Noesen never even played a game for the Sens so that's a bit of a stretch lolI like (and hate) how each of those units has an ex-Senator on it.
The current attendance is reflective of ownership targeting dogs and gays instead of core hockey fans.
Or at least that's what the ghost of Eugene told me.
Does winning tight games against teams like Florida and Tampa count? It's good to see a win and avoid that 3 game losing streak that's very common for this Team
Running up the scoreboard is all good and dandy against a checked out Team. I would really like to see this Team actually win tight games against Teams like Vegas especially when leading twice in the game.
This Team needs to learn to lock it down and not give up those dreaded goals at the worst possible times! And if you still manage to lose a game like that, then I would expect them to come out with fire in the next game and win that (The Colorado game)
I made the initial attendance comment. We played a dominate game last night with few mistakes made.
Of course some people are finding something to complain and worry about (attendance).
Enjoy the victory guys. Worry another day.
This is the reason we ended up with Stutzle, Sanderson and Greig that draft year.
Hope they keep this cooking through November
Sanderson yea. Stutzle and Greig were from the SJ and NYI picks. This is the reason we ended up with Stutzle, Sanderson and Greig that draft year.
Yeah, because we traded away Karlsson and Pageau. Which is why that lineup is so shit.Sanderson yea. Stutzle and Greig were from the SJ and NYI picks.
This haunts me daily unfortunately. This team could easily have been 6-3 or 7-2 if it wasn’t for some stupidity and that hockey terrorist Hamonic.
We've been asking the hockey lords for this for so long.Is Sanderson one of the reasons our PP is clicking so much, or is it coaching?
As skilled as Karlsson and Chabot are, our PP was never deadly with them. Granted, Karlsson didn't have the kind of weapons we have now, but he's never been as good on PP as he is at ES.
Although Sanderson is at the point, I think Stutzle is the real PP QB. I credit him with a ton of the PP success as he's so gifted offensively. Is Sanderson one of the reasons our PP is clicking so much, or is it coaching?
