Although Sanderson is at the point, I think Stutzle is the real PP QB. I credit him with a ton of the PP success as he's so gifted offensively.
I think it's a bit of both. 2 guys that want the puck on their stick and aren't afraid to make a play even under pressure. Not just being 1 of your 5 like that is paying dividends imo.

I've never owned a fanatics personally but I like the colours on their vintage jersey (blues)
I think the original ottawa franchise moved to st louis
Which Original Ottawa Franchise and when did it move?

Awesome period, good response after two hard losses

Perfect set up for a big choke though....
We've been "conditioned" to chokes for the last few years.

One thing I’m really happy about so far this season is that everyone seems to be playing well individually, even the guys who aren’t producing right now.

That bodes well for the group going forward. Guys like Greig, Amadio and Gregor (eventually hopefully Perron as well) are all bringing good level of play, pace and smarts. This wasn’t the case in years past. When some of the other guys aren’t firing on all cylinders, these guys should compensate. We have a lot of players that can move around the lineup and play quality hockey.

Leads me to believe that when we are fully healthy, hopefully one day, this team will be really tough to handle because all lines can play and score goals. MacEwen looks rejuvenated and Cousins is playing well.

I’m still skeptical on whether or not we will make the playoffs but I think we will at least give it a very serious run this year.
If the team continues to play as they have been, I think they will make the playoffs; however, consistency has not been their forte in the past. I think they should have 2 more points than they have now.

There's a few things starting to become evident that are differentiators

1. I think everyone we're dressing are legit NHLers. Zub is out. 2 or 3 years ago that might have meant 3 guys dressed that shouldn't be in the league. Right now, we're dressing 6 legitimate NHL D. Same up front. We've got a couple key guys out and we've got one kid call up that's going to force his way into the league permanently quite soon I think.
2. Every team loses points. Every team can look back and identify 5, 10, 15 points they shoulda, woulda, coulda had. Ullmark right from the get go said we can't let 2 losses turn into 3 or 4 or 5. Coming from Boston... that's how they've remained on top. Commanding performance from him. He gave up one and watching it live, he looked terrific.
3. Nick Jensen really looks good. Idk maybe it is extra structure but that guy is a stabilizing force.

On to New York. Let's go..
One of those 6 NHL D is not going to be here on this team next season: Hamonic. My guess is that he will be replaced either via a trade or UFA signing or by Yak.

I believe way more revenue comes from the tv viewership which dwarfs in game attendance.

We would be much better off growing our tv viewers than our in game attendance, it seems.

Obviously both is ideal, but id much rather get an extra 20% tv viewers than an extra 20% in game attendance.
Does anyone have a breakdown of the Senators revenues by source including ticket sales, local broadcasting, national broadcasting, concessions, parking, etc.?

Noesen never even played a game for the Sens so that's a bit of a stretch lol
I was surprised to see his name on a PP.

I made the initial attendance comment.

Frankly it was a shame. There were sections in the 300s that probably didn't have 20 people in them.

You want to call it complaining, fill your boots.
I just think it's funny that on a night where we outdid our opponent in every metric, people will still find a dark lining.

You do you. I couldn't care less how many people show up in a rainstorm on a Tuesday night

this game actually has me excited for the next game. a full 60 minute effort.

I feel like every game has become a big test for this team lol

but after such a dominant performance and next game being against an actual contender, i feel like how they play will say a lot.

Is Sanderson one of the reasons our PP is clicking so much, or is it coaching?

As skilled as Karlsson and Chabot are, our PP was never deadly with them. Granted, Karlsson didn't have the kind of weapons we have now, but he's never been as good on PP as he is at ES.
Sanderson moves it a bit quicker than Chabot and that helps. But I think there's a few other contributors as well

1. Zone entries. We're better at it. I'm guessing on that but it seems to me we are getting into the zone and gaining possession more easily.
2. Faceoffs. We're winning a lot.
3. Stuetzle and Norris as shooting threats. Stu never looked like he could shoot last year and Norris is there in his office and that to me opens up the bumper plays.

It's certainly looking good.

Or is it a small sample size and too early to draw any conclusions yet? Every shot seems to go in right now. Expect a regression. But we could still end up among the top teams anyway; too early to tell.

Meh, we had the 2nd most PP goals in the league 2 seasons ago too.
What I've noticed is that in both years, they moved around more. Last year, they would set up, no one would move and they would just pass it to each other. So predictable. This year (like in 2022), they're moving around, usually have a net presence. It makes them a lot less predictable so other teams will have a harder time containing them. The PP's they haven't done well in are when they don't win the draw or have a hard time getting in the O zone. But once they're in and have possession, they've been really good for the most part.

Colorado has lost to Chicago, the Islanders and Columbus.
On the road and their goalies were really struggling at the beginning of the season. Let's see how we do against them in our barn. That high altitude seems to affect a lot of teams.
