Attendance Is a reflection of ownership, not the fans. You have good ownership that fits your commutnity, you’ll have good attendance. Whatever profit numbers the NHL owners have - DONT CARE. f*** you and your entitled attitude to my pocket book

I just don’t think if we were leading the division that selling out would matter to anyone. Who cares? Like who actually gives a flying f*** if there were 16 000 or 18500 fans there yesterday? Great game, fun to watch, wasn’t there, I enjoyed it.

low attendance It’s a way for the media to beat up in the fans when they all the media get free tickets, and they do it because it scratches at the fragile ego of Ottawa people, because we think people on the rest of the country will think we aren’t loyal enough. Screw that weak line of thinking, if you want to go to a game, go, and if not, don’t go, you’re still a great fan.

Think it says a lot they are building smaller arenas then even 10 years ago. And much smaller.
If low attendance continues in spite of quality ownership through Andlauer, your theory goes out the window. It does become a reflection of the fan base. There is still time for the numbers to go up, and a lag was to be expected, but at some point the fanbase has to put its money where its mouth is.

Also, fans aren't all the same. Some are active investors in the team through ticket packages, corporate advertising deals, etc. Others stay home. At an individual level everyone makes choices and has their reasons. As a fanbase, however, there needs to be significant enough investment into the organization to justify icing a competitive team and producing an elevated gameday experience.

A few games ago a poster was going around saying that 60 min efforts do not exist.

I was adamant that they do exist, and I've seen other teams do it against us, and I've seen sens teams of old do it.

Well, this was a perfect example of a 60 minute effort. We were in the driver's seat all game and the win never was in doubt. We constantly took the play to them.

I don't understand your argument. What do you mean "no one cares about attendance?"

If we want the owner to spend to the cap, fans have to do their part and pack the building. What message does it send to the owner to have a three quarter full arena? Yes it's expensive, but you either want an NHL team or not.

I believe way more revenue comes from the tv viewership which dwarfs in game attendance.

We would be much better off growing our tv viewers than our in game attendance, it seems.

Obviously both is ideal, but id much rather get an extra 20% tv viewers than an extra 20% in game attendance.

Fans still need to show up in better numbers,

They will once they can trust that they're not blowing hundreds of dollars to see their team lose 3-1 with minimal efforts or fights or hits.

It's going to take more than 2 weeks to build that trust. It will come once we're a good team that wins twice as much as we lose.

Right now, the odds are still high that you'll blow your money and leave the building unimpressed.

Apparently the NFL can do it with viewership.

Maybe we can spread the idea that it's the cool thing to watch the sens game on tv. Have sens game parties with your friends. Get traditions going where all the casuals around you will start to watch every game rather than every 4th game.

Robert Thomas is injured and is by far their best player.

Buchnevich is a pretty good 2-way player, Kyrou is a mini offensive dynamo. Neighbors is young and has shown he can score goals. They just stole Holloway and Broberg who both have upside. Perunovich should also be good. Joel Hofer has shown some good stuff so far in the NHL, it wasn't his best game last night but he was also left out to dry.

They have some solid vets like Schenn, Parayko, Saad, Faulk, Joseph, Binnington.

They also have some pretty good prospects in Jimmy Snuggerud, Dalibor Dvorsky, Adam Jiricek, Otto Stenberg, Theo Lindstein and Zachary Bolduc

They just had a bad game while we played a pretty good game
I'll have to remember to check back on them - which I'll forget to do, of course, because that doesn't really sound too impressive to be honest.

Hope they keep this cooking through November
Imagine having Sanderson the Great and Stu on the same PP? Goodness friggin gracious.
