This thread took a wild turn.

He's been hot and cold with more cold games where he let in soft goals. San Jose game was one to build off of. I hope he does.

And I hope Kastelic and Korpisalo work out for Boston.

Sens got fleeced so hard I might want to trade Stutzle for Leterenaeu just to even it out. Any Kastelic updates, he must have 10 goals by now.
He has 3 rn same as whole 3rd line of Pinto, Perron and Amadio combined.

3.07 GAA, 0.888 sv pct. 5-7-2, and signed for 8.25M. That’s a terrible start, if he doesn’t turn it around soon it’s one of the worst recent deals.

At some point, the Sens have to recognize the pattern of goalies turning to crap in Ottawa and playing well elsewhere right? Maybe try and play some defense instead of scoring 5 goals a game or whatever

Play has fallen a bit as of late, but Ottawa was playing great D early on and the goalies weren't making the saves they needed to. Previous years I totally agree with your take, but this year it isn't all on the defensive play.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Ullmark go back to Boston with retention. Even if Ottawa won't trade him back to Boston, there is nothing they can do if he simply flies there and refuses to come back to Ottawa.

If you have seen that documentary draft day about Kevin Costner's time as an NHL GM. This seems very similar to that. I can already see Korpisalo/Swayman/Ullmark/Kastelic being a four-headed monster for Boston.

Hopefully when the trade happens, they can at least send Ottawa a 3rd.

I've read a lot of unintelligent comments on this website over the years, and this one takes the cake for today.

TBF This is the first guy they've brought in with a decent resume since Anderson was there. Not really comparable to all the others tried in the interim. They were all career backups other than Murray who was damaged goods and had come off his worst season the year prior.

If I am Ottawa I am definitely concerned. I really thought he was their guy and liked the deal and extension for them. Those stats are simply inexcusable. Something is amiss.

Not concerned.

Goalies are voodoo.
When Ottawa was playing well defensively, he was playing off, and now it’s sort of swapped. He’s playing better and the team is hanging him out.

Unfortunately, while their underlying numbers were really good to start the year, they weren’t winning, and now the team is cheating again.

If both can be good at the same time, the team will be where fans think they should be, based on the talent.

Ullmark .888 save % 8.25 mil caphit starting next year
Korpisalo .909 save % 3 mil caphit
Right now. We'll have to see how it goes. Same with Swayman's numbers being bad atm. Ullmark seems to be trending up and has a long history of never below .900 save %, Buffalo included.

Korpisalo has a long history of not being very good, mostly not, and almost every year in Columbus he was significantly outperformed by his tandem partner behind the same team.
