Why is this thread bumped after every Sens game lol. Ullmark has struggled but in the last 5 or so games he’s played well. Really think he’s turning it around.
It’s one poster constantly bumping the thread, it’s the godfather, who also gets chirped a lot for takes on his own forum, so doesn’t have a good track record apparently. Just becomes entertainment now, I wouldn’t take it seriously, no one else does.

There are one or two Bruins fans that are still annoyed about the dunking that Ottawa (and non-Ottawa Bruins haters even more so) fans did when the trade first happened. I get it, but it's time for everyone to move on. I'll be thrilled when this thread isn't on the first page anymore.

Swayman has been playing as good as Ullmark for what that’s worth. Neither of our starters as doing what they are paid to do. I liked Ullmark and thought he’d be great for you guys. But both are having awful seasons.
No argument from me on that.
Neither have been very good

It looks like Ullmarks stats are falling back in line, similar to what Swayman is doing in Boston. I think they will both be back in the top 10 in stats before the season is over.

Both Korpi and Kastelic have thrived in Boston as expected. They are a great fit in that system.

Overall I think this ends up being a solid win-win trade for both teams

Ullmark playing much better lately. Save % has climbed to .898, so similar climb to Swayman's .893.

I maintain that Ottawa is not a goalie graveyard, Dorion just brought in backups or damaged goods and called them starters, while playing behind a young rebuilding team. Talbot being the exception who had a lot of injury issues that year. He's the one that should have been brought back short term. Any sane Ottawa fan knows Dorion was a train wreck.

It's ironic that Dorion spent 7 years failing to solve goaltending and one of his last moves turned out to be the worst UFA contract Ottawa has ever handed out (regardless of how Korpse does in Boston), while SS came in and solved it with his first big move.

I'm curious if there is truth to the rumor that Korpisalo had mask sightlines fixed and laser eye surgery this summer. When he was signed in Ottawa, they propped his double hip surgeries up for why they felt the outlier season after 2 very poor seasons was who he actually is. I never really bought that and that didn't pay off for year 1 of the deal, but the eye surgery seems plausible as a factor for his improved performance this year.

I didn't realize that the Sens traded for all those pieces for Forsberg!!!!

In a way it's fair to think they did because without Korpisalo to hold down the fort, Forsberg is going to get more games than he otherwise would. There is also the Kastelic factor to consider and how his absence might affect the coaches choice about who to play, which I haven't seen a lot of people bring up.
