Man Korpi and Kastelic were the scraps of the deal and both have become vital to Bruins line up. That kid Leternaeu is the icing of the deal imagine Don sweeney hits on that too. It's like getting all the lotto numbers correct .

Kastelic has gotten 2 points in his last 16 games, and has a shade over 13 minutes of combined ice time in his last 2 games. He's closer to the press box than he is the player you're pretending he is.

And FWIW, my post history says Korpi would be better in Boston. It's no surprise. The only surprise thus far has been Ullmark's bad games being as plentiful as they've been early on.

Kastelic has consistently been one of the better players on a team that's struggled to put in an honest effort every night, points or no points. He's always playing with energy, on the puck hard, knows his assignments, and I think he might be the team's best FO guy. He's a 3rd/4th liner all the way but still brings value to the team and is becoming a fan favorite. He's nowhere near the press box with how he's played.

Last game Kastelic had two fights to be fair and no one expects more than strong 4th line play. He's perhaps been the most consistent Bruins player this season even with the disastrous beginning.

He may be further from the press box than any Bruin not named McAvoy/Marchand/Pastrnak due to their talent.

Their last SC parade was epic though. Guitars, music, love. Just a really groovy scene, baby.

The actual parade! Neato!

Kastelic is an excellent 4th liner, it was clear since his rookie season, one of the best in the face off circle, physical, good defensively, can even score goals.

I was disappointed to see him going to Boston but Ottawa really had to move Korpisalo so if Boston asked for him... I hope that's the case and not Staios who wanted to "get rid of him"...

We let go guys like Joseph, Brannstrom, Kastelic, Kelly and took on Amadio, Hamonic*, Cousins and Gregor. Can't say I am a big fan of these changes, quite the opposite actually (in Hamonic's case, it meant he was going to be a regular again)

So it seems that it's a bit of a gamble to pay 8.25 mil to a goalie that has yet to play a single game for your team. Imagine that. Sometimes it pays off, but most of the time it doesn't.

Lol let in softies early. Like always but yeah no sample size on korpisalo. Reality is a really hard thing for Habs fans to come to grips with this year eh.

How much wishful thinking can you jam into one post.
Hey, a month and half later..... hows Ullmark, man???

Ill cook up some crow for you guys. Been keeping it in my freezer for a special occasion.

I don't think he's going to answer, haven't seen him in a while. And I'm not going to defend him here as he lambasted my posts all this offseason basically for saying that the Habs rebuild has been trending up and was on the verge on passing ours and that the changes the Sens made were bad.

Out : Tarasenko + Joseph + Kubalik + Kastelic + Kelly + Brannstrom

In : Perron + Amadio + Gaudette + Cousins + Gregor + Hamonic*

* I wanted to get rid of Hamonic and keep Brannstrom to play him on RD when there was no LHD injury

The Joseph trade to sign Amadio was the one I disliked the most. We paid a freaking 3rd round pick to get rid of Joseph 2.95 AAV to then sign Amadio at 2.6 AAV. Problem is Joseph is much better/impactful player. Had to wait for some games to be played so people could see what I was saying

I only liked Ullmark over Korpisalo (not looking good so far, but also warned Sens fans that Korpi could have better stats this season) and was ok with Jensen over Chychrun (even if JC has much more value)

Maybe the Sens should have hired a better coach.

Korpi is playing fine in Boston. He's let in a few softies & made some massive saves when needed.
Kastelic has been giving one of the most consistent efforts out there for Boston.

Ullmark seems (Stat watching, only watched his game against the B's)) to be on a roller coaster of playing great and playing horrible. I know when he was in Boston he was making big saves on constant breakdowns to keep them in games. Doesn't seem to be the same in Ottawa as of yet.

It's crazy to think that first the Senators gift wrapped the Bruins a franchise player in Chara and now they have done the same thing with Kastelic.

I get that in paper he isn't a big Connor McDavid type scorer but anybody who has played actual high end competitive sports at a pro or close to pro level knows that there are certain players who do things that don't always show up on the scoreboard.

I played PeeWee football, and this kid joined our team because he moved middle schools. He didn't play a lot, but his mere presence elevated our games. That's what Kastelic is, but you add in that he is a gritty 20-30 goal scorer in the making, and the kind of calming intangibles he brings to the room makes him borderline as valuable as a franchise player.

That's not even to consider Korpisalo, which took a lot of vision for Don Sweeney to demand Staios out him in the trade. Staios being a rookie GM likely thought he was pulling a fast one in Sweeney because he couldn't see how Sweeney had an eye for undervalued talent.

Dont forget that 1st round pick in Dean leternaeu imagine he also clicks. This trade is really unreal.

We all saw this coming. Bostons system makes their goalies look good. Ullmark never wins a Vezina if it wasn't for being a Bruin. Now he has a .880SV% on a basement team with a janitor as their coach. Shocker.

Of all the candidates out there and you hire Travis Green.

Honestly, makes me think they should sell on on Swayman. Maybe they could fleece Ottawa again and get another hidden gem back like MacEwan. If you saw the game he had against the Kings, you'd know that on a better run franchise he could have 10 goals a season.

Sens got fleeced so hard I might want to trade Stutzle for Leterenaeu just to even it out. Any Kastelic updates, he must have 10 goals by now.
