Having lived in a few places in my day and getting to listen to sports talk in LA, NY, Chicago and Detroit there is no doubt that LA has the worst sports talk out of those cities and it's not even close. The discussion is all Lakers, the personalities through the years have been awful, Mychal Thompson and Vic The Brick belong on the air in some place like Amarillo or Albuquerque, if anywhere. And yeah these two new guys on ESPN, saw their intro video where they were asked what their favorite teams in each sport were and both clowns couldn't even come up with an answer when asked about hockey, the Kings have been the most successful team in the city this decade and the Ducks have been pretty good as well, just comical.

LA is such a one dimensional sports town though, so I guess that is why they do it, apparently the surveys and other things they do to gauge listener interest tells them to talk Lakers Lakers Lakers Lakers and then talk about the Dodgers in the summer months.

I don't even think they do that, in the summer most stations have spent the last 5 years talking about free agents that might go to the Lakers (obviously they haven't), so it's funny in that regard.

Exactly! :yo: I'm a big Laker fan too like many of us here, but my goodness 24/7 every second every minute on this team is absolutely brutal. I can only handle it for so long but sheesh no diversity what so ever.

Baseball is a marathon race and the commentary is about the same. Really boring, lots of stories until you get close to the finish.

I used to be as much a Laker fan as the Rams, Dodgers and Kings, but the L.A. media has made me grow to hate the Lakers.

I don't have nearly as much fan time available as years ago, so the Kings take up 95% of my time. However, I would like to be able to try to squeeze some Rams time back into my life in a year or two.

Not gonna lie I was a huge Rams fan. Then they left and I said EFF you and never looked back. Hated Georgia for moving the team. But IF they come back I'll be hitching a ride on that bandwagon again.

Bit of an old news, but I'm elated with the signing of Utley. Don't be surprised if he's our starting 2nd baseman next year.

Lakers question: will the Lakers win more games than the GS Warriors will lose?

So Kendrick was just a one and done? Thought he was one of the more consistent Dodgers last season.

Yeah, Kendrick was an expensive rental. And I like Kendrick, but he really doesn't do anything great offensively. He's a better than average hitter, with decent power, and some speed, but he really doesn't excel in any offensive category. Besides, I think the dodgers are pretty high on Peraza, especially now that we have Dave Roberts at the helm. I think Peraza and Utley will fight it out for 2B.

Can Utley still hit a baseball?

No way do you want another guy missing a season and then getting deported?

I'm sure he probably thinks Voynov did no wrong either. Why would the Dodgers bring on that mess onto their hands? Just what the organization needs, more people representing the organization who display violent behavior, much like the idiots who attack opposing fans outside of Dodger Stadium who make the fanbase look like savages.

He was doing really well once he came off the DL in philly, but as a dodger, yeah, he didn't do much. But then again, he really wasn't playing on regular basis either.

He is, he'll get 4 years, $40M+. Just that his market hasn't formed yet waiting for Zobrist and now Murphy to sign.

I was thinking minimally 4@50M. I think in today's baseball, a "joe average" is paid 10M. :amazed:

BTW, I'm always talent first, off-the-field personal life second. Then again, that's why I am not a GM. Just a fan hungry to see my team win the WS.

Although, one's skill is important, I think character is equally important, if not more.

He has really ****** tastes in cars too.
