This sucks for SD fans. I welcome local rivalries but the Chargers will have a hard time establishing a fan base here but they can take advantage of the Rams' current incompetence.

Rumors they'll play at Stub Hub center.

Rams, Chargers, Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Kings, Galaxy, LAFC (2018), USC/UCLA football. No one is going to care about them.

Christ the last the LA needs is another football team. People barely give a **** about the Rams.

Not sure how to put it on here but those of you with twitter should look at the lightening's post about how the LA Dodgers and the Tampa Lightening are just friends.

Maybe they can merge the two teams together and become a .500 team.
Bad move by Spanos, but he and the league weren't going to pay for a stadium in SD - so his options were limited.

At least my Sunday afternoons will be freed up in the fall.

The league gave him $300M and his relocation fee will be as much as $650M. So that is a large chunk of the cash needed for a stadium. He could have stayed but couldn't spend his own money to do so.
It's moves like this that make people hate the owners of sports teams.

The games against the Raiders at Stub Hub are going to be nuts. 27000 capacity? There'll be 26800 Raider fans there.

Rams are now making former Washington OC Sean McVay the youngest HC in NFL history, per source. McVay turns 31 years old on Jan. 24.

the Charger move is going to be a flat out disaster. Who exactly is going to go to their games, other than fans of the other team? They have no significant fan base up here and no one from San Diego will come up here.

I am one of the few Charger fans who live in LA and and have no plans to support the team up here. They are the San Diego Chargers. Spanos can die in a fire.

I put down a deposit solely for the fact that it seems that there were at least 28K fans of the other team in SD so there should be artificial demand for these seats over the next two seasons until they move to the new shiny stadium.

Plus, there will be some curiosity in regards to watching a legit (depending on who the Chargers are playing!) NFL game in a shoe box.

I wish they would of stayed. I know a lot of Chargers fans that are like you and just saying **** them. I also know that there are a lot of people that aren't just going to be able to give up the flame that easily even if they say so in the immediate hours after getting dumped.

Even so, I expect the transplants in the LA/OC area to be able to fill up Stub Hub Center no problem. As echoed earlier, resale for the Raiders game is going to be insane.

Maybe so but it wouldn't shock me to see Stub Hub half full for some of the less attractive matchups. How embarrassing will that be? What about when they go to the new stadium? No one is going to buy a freaking PSL for that team (or the Rams for that matter).

It's Georgia Frontiere part II. At least the Chargers will still be in state, although I just can't see LA supporting 2 NHL teams.

Didn't Spanos do a lot to try and keep the team in San Diego? I thought he could have moved them last year but wanted to try and save the team so that's why it was delayed. Feel for him in this.
