Didn't Spanos do a lot to try and keep the team in San Diego? I thought he could have moved them last year but wanted to try and save the team so that's why it was delayed. Feel for him in this.

I think you are the only person who feels bad for Spanos.

He was basically holding out that somebody else would pay for his stadium. Not exactly the most sympathetic figure. He wanted to build the joint stadium in Carson, but apparently whoever they had do the presentation did a poor job and the owners went the Inglewood stadium.

Maybe so but it wouldn't shock me to see Stub Hub half full for some of the less attractive matchups. How embarrassing will that be? What about when they go to the new stadium? No one is going to buy a freaking PSL for that team (or the Rams for that matter).

That could definitely happen too. I just put the deposit down in the event I decide it is worth the risk.

The thought of NFL football in a small stadium is really interesting. I think there are enough Chargers fans and then football fans in general to fill a 30K stadium.

For the next two years, this is a much better alternative for those living in OC that want to watch live football over going to a Rams game. As a Panthers fan, I went to the game this year and then swore I would not go to another Rams game until they are in the new stadium.

This will work if they win. That's the problem though. At least the Chargers are real exciting when losing as opposed to the Rams who make you question if you like football more than a trip to the dentist.

I think there'll be enough visiting fans who want to escape East Coast winter for a SoCal weekend to help fill it in. As was the case in San Diego. Plus there are so many transplants who live in SoCal. My Buffalo buddy went to the Bills/Rams game this season and I can only imagine he'd drive to Carson to watch the Bills again.

Charger fans who are LA natives are lying about not supporting the LA Chargers. Flat out lying.

I had a similar thought, why would they complain about their team moving closer to them.

Charger fans in San Diego have a reason to gripe but I think its more that the team is called "Los Angeles" now instead of "San Diego"

the only other complaint would be the extra 90 minute drive but long ass drives in traffic is a staple of Southern California.

the last two NFL games I've been to were Charger games years back so I have no issue catching a game or two down the line with that being said I do have an issue with that lame ass logo and they should have kept the cool ass bolts and colors.

Ok Carnac :shakehead Watch my gear go into a box maybe to emerge when they go back to San Diego after 5 years of embarrassment in LA.

You can NOT be serious. Spanos is basically the Donald Sterling of the NFL. He's a F****** billionaire who wants the taxpayers to pay for his stadium and doesn't give a crap about the loyal & devoted fanbase in San Diego.

Spanos is a garbage owner and all...but god damn is this gutting for the San Diego fans. The only plus is that it's only a couple hours up the road.

That said, any guesses on which team's tickets will go for less? I think a young talent like Goff playing for a competent coach would make the Rams all the more marketable than an aging and mediocre Rivers.

I'd disagree with mediocre (5th in passing yards, 4th in passing TDs). The offense was definitely missing Keenan Allen for those final 15.5 games (and to a lesser degree Stevie Johnson and Danny Woodhead). There were a few games this year where the #1-3 WRs to start the year were all shelved. He was forcing more balls this year, but the receivers just weren't as talented which led to more INTs.

I meant mediocre more in the sense of team success- in that he hasn't lead the Chargers anywhere in 12 years.

I know they've been a mismanaged mess of a franchise.

Prob time to bump this up with MLB season starting.

BTW, LA sports talk right now with regards to the Lakers has reached Team 1040 levels. Just started streaming earlier for laughs, it's actually way worse than Team 1040.

Hershiser is so painful to listen to. SNLA should've hired Eric Karros instead of this homer. It's gard to outhomer Gubiszbabxbzzhdhza of the Angels but Hershiser has done it.

Was hoping they would lose their pick to be able to listen to the radio (710 is about on level with 1040 in Vancouver with stupid callers and hosts).

But if they weren't going to lose the pick atleast they moved up to #2, should be great seeing the biggest clown of all joining the Lakers Circus.

Lakers keep their pick with #2 spot again. Also means they keep their 2019 pick as well.

Was hoping we get the 1st or third pick. 2nd overalls are usually garbage Just look at the 2nd overalls since 2000. 17 years and 2 players yes 2 players have been a superstar or really good since that time. Lamarcus Alridge in 06' and Kevin Durant in 07'. Trade it away!
