I like that little shot at the end, BigKing. But it's a good move for the Clippers. Staples is getting surroubded by Laker statues and it just doesn't seem right to keep playing there if you're the Clippers. Hopefully this arena will be smaller so that the crowd noise is consistent, unlike at Staples.

I'm in no way a Laker fan, but I'm tired of this Clippers team. Mainly, I'm not a Chris Paul fan.

I mainly took the shot because I saw this story on the news earlier today and immediately thought "How will this change Staples" like it was a problem for a split second. Then I chuckled to myself when I remembered Taylor Swift is beating them in the banner count at present.

I do like the idea of easier scheduling between Kings/Lakers as I'd hope we could lessen the amount of BS Saturday matinees in favor of night games.

Of course, I'll be 44 years old by the time the Clips lease is up at Staples so I'll probably want matinees at that point haha.

The lease won't end until 2024 but the arena will be ready by 2021. So I wonder if Ballmer is willing to pay a huge penalty to get out of that lease.

Also, I just have to say that I think the "you have no championship jokes" are weak unless you're really provoked. Mainly because I'm a Kings fan and I know how it was like to root for a ringless franchise and we all endured that joke from Ducks fans for 5 years. I only do banner count jokes with Ducks fans because 2-1 pisses them off. But picking on franchises like the Sharks, Preds, Blues, and Yotes for not winning the Cup yet is just not me. I mean I'd use other ways to make fun of their fans but I will never bring up their empty trophy cases. But I guess the no championship jokes are an upgrade over "can't even win 40 games" jokes before the Griffin and Paul era.

I'm not holding no titles against them when I made the banner joke, it's more that they don't even have a retired jersey!!!

I mean, there is nothing in Staples Center that reflects the Clippers play there once you are off the concourse and into the actual arena. That is what blows me away.

Wonder how stiff the penalty would be for breaking the lease. Ballmer has the money to do it, I'm sure.

Seems like LA is getting the Olympics in 24 or 28 but I can assume this only helps with logistics and whatnot if there is another high-end facility available.

The reaction from Lavar if the Lakers don't pick Lonzo would be epic.

Also, I could definitely afford those Big Baller Brand shoes, it's just that I wouldn't spend the money on them even if I was a billionaire.

How dumb of a player do you have to be, when you show up to your dream teams workout OUT OF SHAPE?

Well at least one things for sure dude rather play for his hometown team then win a title. Good luck playing with the likes of D'Angelo "Rat" Russell, Julius "No Handle" Randle, and Brandon "Duke Players are Garbage" Ingram, and of course Lonzo "Biggest Buncha BS" Ball! LOL.

So they're going to get LeBron and Paul George in 2018?
That is the rumor going on right now. My sole fear is LeBron will ask and make Lakers trade all their young talent away to help win now. I hope they keep Ingram and Ball/Jackson whichever they take (Better not go Fox at #2). I imagine though they move out Randle/Clarkson/Moz/Deng (No clue how they manage the latter two) and bring in a third star like D. Cousins. Obviously all hypotheticals

I hope Magic can have the Jerry West touch on turning this team around, but I also fear that he's just going to go for every big name that will become available and it'll be a repeat of bringing tons of egos in and in-fighting and clashes with players/coaches going on all over again, which is why Jerry West left the team in the first place.

Hell, they just dealt with drama off the court with the Buss siblings fighting over the team. But seeing how Magic and his group have turned things around for the Dodgers and have brought stability to the team, it does instill some hope that maybe he's capable of making some good decisions.

Speaking of right decisions, glad to read they are trying to acquire an additional first round selection rather than looking to move their 2nd overall pick for a quick fix.

The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to acquire another first round pick in this Thursday's NBA draft, league sources told ESPN.

The Lakers have engaged at least two other teams in the lottery, sources said, as they search for players to improve their outside shooting and perimeter defense.

If George leaves that much money on the table to return home then good for him, that is really admirable. The issue is when it really is time to sign that contract will he follow through, what if he goes to Cleveland and they make the finals or even win it (not likely but not impossible) does he still leave all that money and a great team to go to the Lakers?

How about Cody Bellinger, eh? Kinda reminds me of Shawn Green. Where in the world does that skinny mother****er get all that power from?

Hope he keeps it up and doesn't turn into another pederson with all power and a really low batting avg. He's been phenomenal. Wonder if they can find any takers on replacing Adrian Gonzalez now...

Lopez and 27 to Lakers, Russell and mozgov to nets.

Whoever is running the Nets should absolutely get punched in the face over and over again. What the heck are they doing? Cannot believe the Lakers were able to get someone to take that Pathetic Mozgov contract! Now if we can con someone to taking Deng's contract then watch out folks. Cuz instead of Lottery picks we movin down into the black hole slots. Kings fans remember those all to well.

Nets don't have their 1st round picks so they just picked up the #2OA from two seasons ago while trading large contracts both ways.

Nets aren't winning with Lopez and they won't with Mozgov either. Getting Russell out of it is great for them since they traded away all their top picks in the disaster Celtics trade.

This is more like the Lakers had to give up a good asset to get someone to take the contract. Mozgov's contract isn't going to keep the Nets from contending but it would ruin the Lakers FA plans.
