He wasn't consistently healthy until last year either, which is I'm sure part of the reason he was expected to be a contributor this year. The problem is that he was again injured and never really got into a groove. But to expect him to be a 25 HR guy wasn't all that unreasonable. And even looking pretty pedestrian this year and being injured for a lot of it, he's a 15-15 guy with 60 RBI.
I'm not saying it wasn't reasonable, it was. I think you should always expect someone who just finished 8th for the MVP to be a big contributor for you the following season. What I'm arguing is that it would be unreasonable to expect that production next season. I think we need to acquire some sort of consistent bat that we can rely on, not even an elite guy like Turner or someone on a 200M+ deal, but just someone that has a track record and isn't too old. You then hope that the younger guys take that next step or O'Neill bounces back to be the extra bonus.

Absolutely incredible. I didn't think there was any chance he'd get there. I thought he'd maybe get to ARod. A little disappointed we didn't get Danny Mac's call, but the Apple TV guy did pretty well honestly. Amazing moment.

Never been a huge fan of Dan McLaughlin but I feel for him here that he didn’t get to call it. I’m sure that stings a little bit.

Still, an insane career for Pujols. Cool to see.

I saw Ozzie retire, Willie retire, and Holliday’s final game as a Cardinal, but none of them will compare to Pujols and Molina’s final game. I’m not mentally prepared for that one.

outside of 1 game on this road trip, offense has been a total joke lol

this team will be lucky to win 1 or 2 games against an actual contender. they might beat the padres, phillies or brewers but they wont sniff a series win against a team like ATL or LAD.

so do the cards want to play san diego, philly or milwaukee?

should start prepping the rotation vs whoever has good numbers vs the team we will likely play. i think it will be Philly.

My plan is to have the Cardinals win out and the Braves/Mets lose out and claim the second bye spot
Sadly, they play each other 3 times this weekend so one of them is guaranteed to win at least twice and have at least 99 wins. The most we can make it to is 97. I'm afraid that ship has sailed.

Six games left.

How will the Cardinals do in the postseason?

What’s a good site to stream games and gamble? Is mlb66.ir still a thang?
