deserve to lose when you literally walk the entire bases loaded before you decide to pull the pitcher. oliver choked this game away by pulling Q when he was cruising at 75 pitches. he could have went another inning or two at that pace and then you dont have to rely on 5 outs from your closer.
Little league managers trying to change the way their manage just because the calendar says October. Deserve to lose when you do that and only have 3 hits.

yep. 3 hits from the redbirds will get you that. i love how arenado wants to win a world series too but look at his postseason numbers. guy seems like a epic choker. people need to stop comparing him to rolen. rolen would run circles around the fraud. he cost them 2 more runs too with that lovely error. they gave the phillies a hit there but thats a routine double play ball lmao.
but overall this game was still winnable had the manager realized he has an entire bullpen down there and his closer couldnt throw strikes. now all he did was make it so closer cant pitch tomorrow and its now a must win game due to poor managing to take Q out after 75pitches and totally mowing the Phillies down.

Running Gallegos back out in the 8th instead of someone like Matz, then trying to over extend Helsley particularly after his finger was injured recently. Walk, walk, HBP before he was taken out in a game that'll likely decide the series.

Cardinals STILL dont have a manager who can manage a october bullpen since TLR.
like i said, all goes back to pulling Q so early. that sets the table for how he managed for rest of the game. He was at 75 pitches and only had 2 hits against him with NOBODY on base when he got pulled. When you gift them 4-5 runs via walks, HBP and errors, you deserve to lose. and thats all this team has done in september. albert chasing 700 has masked some very poor and subpar baseball.

Welp certainly an uphill climb now. This team still can’t hit in the postseason, going on I don’t even know how many years at this point.

This one's on the manager. That was a Matheny-level unforced error leaving Helsley in that long.
