I didn't consider that, but I'm happy with giving Suter Hoglander-type money. Beyond that and into the $4s, I'm f***ing out and happy with going the FA route filling his spot.

I'd be sorry to see him go, I've been a huge believer of his and whatever he did last season was f***ing working kind of. But every so often he'll go so off-script I don't think he knows what he's f***ing doing out there, either.

Got disappointed by him in the playoffs. I really thought he'd go OFF the way Boeser did.

tocheet messed with his confidence. first plays good games with petey and then drops to 4th line makes a mistake your benched.

The reluctance to either go to Hog-EP as a forward pair or find them a proper 3rd option to form a proper line will be this team's subtle yet loud downfall, IMO.

I think DOC is perfect but Tocchet is too set in his "left shot play left side" caveman brain. Either that or poor DOC can't keep up with EP in terms of puck management.

Not you, but this post reminds me of my ex-wife who loved Keeping Up with the Karadassians.

Yeah, I spelt it wrong deal with it.

I love trade day as much as the next guy, the power of trades tantalized me. But these are dudes with families some of them, so TDL has become a bit of a bittersweet pill knowing that some kids are changing schools which is always difficult for them.

Like poor Podkolzin has a kid already. The kid will be like 9-10 when his dad suddenly becomes a hot commodity for playoff time.

A lot can change in 4 days in terms of Boeser agreeing to an extension, or another team making an offer for Brock. we sit patiently and wait it out. clock is ticking.

We are not a playoff team when you can't beat Utah, Ducks and Kraken.

f***ing agreed but I also think there is a "god factor" in every game and we haven't been able to overcome it.

Like for me, it's the Silovs inability to stop a point shot for ANA, SEA having 3 uncontested deflections in the 2nd period for two of them.

Utah was a completely winnable game and our parade just happened to be pissed on that day for whatever reason, the "God factor" if you will, was EP missing the breakaway.

Bad players look invisible when they aren't playing their game, good players are unforgettable. Little prairie wisdom from a country boy, or rambling from a homeless dude on East Hastings, take your prick.

Frederic is a guy id like to see the Canucks look at in the off season as a possible Suter replacement (if he prices himself out). Has good size & maybe a Tocchet type player.

I think the Vancouver Canucks will make 2 deals possibly 3 if they flip the asset(s) they get in a Brock trade. I doubt Columbus would go for it but a Boeser for Sillinger would be a solid framework for a deal.

Id love to see the team weaponize cap space to acquire extra draft capital that they trade out this tdl or at the draft itself. Things like take an expiring cap dump to help 2 teams complete a trade etc.

This year is done, the team is cooked. Hughes is injured, Demko on IR, Petey is MIA, Miller is gone, Boeser is checked out. Tocchet is out of answers

Pretty much everything that could go wrong did this year - start looking to next year. Move Brock, Suter, Forbort and Petey (if possible).

The worst thing we can do is try and be buyers - this team AIN'T IT.

With the Bruins potentially in the sellers market I wonder what it would take to add Carlo to our D core. What would we need to add to Soucy to do a straight swap? Maybe a three team trade with the assets from Soucy and a sweetener from our headed to Boston?

I really like the size on that 3rd pairing.

Hughes - Hronek
MP29 - Myers/Will
DPetey - Carlo

On board Willander w the hopes he slides in to the 2RD after Myers contract is up

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but it’s now March. Don’t you think he’d acquire the stamina by now? He went through training camp.. and 54 games (57 if you count 4 nations) at this point.

What kind of professional athlete can’t get in shape in this amount of time?

Maybe one who’s got his bag and more concerned about life after hockey if you ask me.

Also does EP40 have any friends on the team anymore? He seems like such a loner nowadays.

I will lose my shit if we keep Boeser as our own rental and he walks after this season. To miss out on assets while potentially missing the playoffs would be such a Benning thing to do. That's a fireable offence, unfortunately these type of stupid decisions probably come from Aquaman himself. Being a Canucks fan is so depressing at times. Well most of the time lmao.

Can our cap afford Carlo as a third pairing D? He’d be expensive to acquire too. Not so sure Carlo is a guy we can afford in both ways.

If we are shipping Soucy out it would add 1 M to our cap. You are correct.

Ideally he could replace Myers on the line up but I don't know if he's capable of a 2RD role. If he is then it could slide Myers down to 3RD.

All depends on whether or not they are getting decent offers. I am hoping we let him him walk. I just don’t think he’s worth a big contract. He’s been a valuable player. I’ll give him that. I just think he’s been overpaid for a bunch of his contract.
