Leo Karmarov looks game ready!

Moscow Dynamo ....13 games played.....2G 8A 10pts 42pim +2

Gardiner's injury might just be the perfect opportunity to get Rielly his 9gm look.

9gms into the season should be about a month from now, so that should give Jake plenty of time to recover.

his play this year, in both AHL and KHL, has me thinking he might not just be a 4th liner, but could have some 3rd line upside.

Yeah, because Seth Jones will solve all our problems.. Goaltending is the major problem with this team, Not the defence. Although not having Gardiner hurts.

I think I have my answer, you didn't watch the WJC, you don't have to be Craig Button to realize Jones will help out a NHL team, even one as great as you think the Leafs are this year.

I wouldn't mind seeing Grabo move up with Lupul and Kessel and that line getting 22mpg, either.

Lupul - Grabo - Kessel
JVR - Connolly/Bozak/Kadri - MacArthur
Frattin - Connolly/Bozak/Kadri - Kulemin

After the tourney, I see no way Reilly gets the tryout. We don't have time in camp to mess around and I think the organization has decided he's best back in junior. I was a big fan of giving him a shot, but after WJ he clearly needs more seasoning.

Especially with Ranger an almost lock, there is no room for a good look anyways, nor does the condensed regular season allow for a rookie to learn from his mistakes.

what we really can't afford is to give Komisarek regular icetime.

Lupul-Kadri-Kessel
Kulemin-Grabovski-JVR
MacArthur/Lombardi-Bozak-Frattin
Komarov-McClement-Brown

Phaneuf-Gunnarsson
Liles-Franson (Resigned, he's a great player)
Rielly-Holzer

Scrivens
Reimer

Some players will be gone in case of the Luongo trade, but we'll just have to see if that goes through and who leaves if it does.

You put Holzer in there and NOT Ranger? He is clearly coming up, the guy is an absolute stud with the Marlies.

LOL....his tourney was more then fine considering numnuts Coach and how they played him. I say he gets his 9 games in and they will have to make a decision on him then....and it will be hard to send him back.

none of yakupov, galchenyuk, rielly, reinhart had great tourneys, but I wouldn't be surprised to see all of them in the nhl this year.

Lots of possibilities, but I'd try this for now....

Lupul - Grabovski - Kessel
JVR - Bozak/Kadri - Kulemin
MacArthur - Bozak/Kadri - Frattin
Komarov - McClemment - Brown

I'm not even going to try putting the defense together, but didn't Carlyle say at his season ending presser that Phaneuf will be tried on the left side this upcoming season, or did I hear wrong?

Agree on the coach, but he wasn't fine. I love the kid, but he doesn't look quite ready, with a need to win straight out of the gate, I see little chance the Leafs give him a 9 game tryout.

He doesn't play one game :)

Does Paul Ranger get an invite to camp? if he can regain his form he could be a really good asset.

I'd be shocked if Ranger wasn't on the leafs, and in their top-4, to start the season.

Burke's got a lot of work to do. Even with Luongo I don't see the current Leaf lineup beating the top seeds in the East in a playoff series. Those teams are just too good.

I will take that bet....

Carlyle will love what he brings to the ice.....speed, great on ice vision, great passer and the ability to skate the puck out of trouble (something that we do not have currently).

Joffery Lupul - Tyler Bozak - Phil Kessel
James Van Riemsdyk - Mikhail Grabovski - Clarke MacArthur
Nikolai Kulemin - Jay McClement - Matt Frattin
Leo Komarov - David Steckel - Mike Brown

Dion Phaneuf - Carl Gunnersson
Paul Ranger - Morgan Rielly (9 games/less until Gardiner comes back)
JM Liles - Korbian Holzer
Mike Komisarek

James Reimer
UFA Backup

i like the lines in my season i'm playing right now ;).

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Grabovski - Kulemin
Mac - Kadri - Frattin
Brown - Steckel - McClement

or swap Bozak and Kadri if Naz really impresses. i don't see guys like Lombardi/Connolly cracking the lineup. if they do it will mean they won spots over Frattin/Kadri, which would be a shame.
