So baring any type of deal, scrivens should be the nhl backup. Rynaas takes the reigns for the Marlies.

No point in buying him out when he's a pending UFA. Would be silly to do so especially when we've got room already.

The obvious buyout is Komisarek.
The less obvious is either Liles or Grabovski in my opinion.

Why would it be silly if it doesn't cost MLSE anything but their own money? The agreement gives you two with NO consequence, so what's the downside again? Ranger is a given in the lineup.

He's 18. You don't buyout Liles who has a very fair salary in relation to his point production, unless you're worried about his health. Judging by the amount of skating he's been doing during the offseason, he appears ready to go.
Just checked, contract buyouts wouldn't start til next year. So we're stuck with any of the players we do have for now.

Why would you "flip out" because Liles is gone?
That's a huge portion of our limited cap designated to someone who isn't very good at all for our team.
This is gonna be a crazy time, hell we might even see trades in the next week

Liles is a respectable defenseman. After he was injured, our breakout suffered dearly.

Contrary to the minority belief here, Liles is one of a kind PP specialist defensemen who can actually also play solid D and is a character guy wherever he goes.

He's a pretty bad defender in my opinion, based on what he showed us last year.
And he is recoverring from a concussion.

there's a few leafs I think are good. Only so many you can really choose from when you have a team as bad as this but I do have my favorites.
