you really like Slovenians...

This is Filip Flisar from my home town I know him personally. And I can tell you he is funny as hell...

It would be so nice if any of our hockey players could get a sniff of NHL at a summer training camp or something. People think you need to be oh so good to play in the NHL, and yes you do. But there's always that X factor and hope that a player catches on with his line mates.. Good line chemistry can make up for a lot. You don't need Crosbyesque virtuosity to make it. I still can't belive Raffl made it onto the Flyers - and that he's doing so well, having seen him in EBEL.

Was gutted last night when he got knocked out. The Australian commentators loved him too

I just found out that it is quite possible for him to get bronze medal. First three places were won by French skiers and they are accused that they were cheating with their ski dresses and official appeal has been made by many nations.

Everybody on USA was missing except for Quick.

American fans will say their team didn't show up.
Canadian fans will say our D stifled them.

Thought it was a very close game, I was nervous throughout.
Hopefully US wins bronze, and Canada wins Gold

And people rolled their eyes and laughed when I asserted that Dustin Brown falls down in open ice without provocation.

I remember WAY back in the day going to prospect games when Brown was first drafted and having serious discussions with some of the guys there if Brown simply didn't know how to stop.

Guy would fly down the ice and run full into the boards... boom. Every time.

I think it's something the main boards just can't understand. They see him make a sharp turn and just fly to the ice and all they start to scream is "diver!." He falls like that all the time. If he's going straight he's normally fine. Anytime he has to make a sharp turn... well... boom.

The sport has been surprisingly fun, the weird rally cross snowboard thing is insane, but it's nothing to really worry about.

For me losing to the Canucks/Sharks a few years ago in the playoffs is an actual memory. I don't think I'll remember who won Sochi in a few years. I've no idea who won the WJC this year. Barely remember the Vancouver game. I just don't care.

If anything they should just make the Olympics a WJC+ tournament like in soccer. Why the NHL has to screw up a whole season for 1 or 2 games is beyond me. Did you take a look at our schedule? We get basically no rest till the playoffs. None. I don't think we're going to have a single actual practice day. It's going to be nothing but recuperation.

A puck goes one more inch to the right and we have a tied game. 1-0 hockey. Why people need to pontificate about that is beyond me. It doesn't mean anything. No one learned anything about hockey in either the states nor in Canada. It's not a series. It's just a game. You can't do anything different. That's just the way it goes in hockey.
