Darkhorse prediction: Corey Perry drives to the net and plows into Quick. Quick gets up, throws his stick down, shakes his head, and unleashes hell.
I'm expecting the US to start the game with their foot on the throttle and never let up. They have some serious unfinished business and hopefully the women's collapse today added fuel to the fire. Jonathan Quick has waited his entire life for this.

That's another reason I believe the US will win. I think they are more pumped up for this because 2010 is still fresh in their minds. Yes, I'm sure the Canadians are also pumped up, but I think they have that, "We still have 2010" in their minds. The US have a feeling they have something to prove, the feeling of 'they were soooo close in 2010'.
Fellow Canadian Kings fans don't take that the wrong way. I just feel the US has more motivation from the stinging loss of 2010.
That would be epic.
Hopefully they also remember 2002. A lot of players were on that 2010 squad and a few have said how they've been seething for four years. One player in particular that I'm expecting big things out of is Ryan Kesler. I'm expecting him to play the game of his life. The US women collapsing today should add to no shortage of motivation.
"Jonathan Quick classless on an international scale!"![]()
Whoever wins, I hope for a low scoring, end to end, big hits, big save, edge of your seat type of game. This is the matchup that should've been the gold medal game.
Is everyone ready for the severe backlash towards Quick, and Brown if he takes a penalty, if the U.S. loses tomorrow? It will hit epic proportions. You know the Miller fan boys are just lurking in the weeds waiting for Quick to fail.
As a Canadian, I hope the Canadians win, but I think it's going to be the U.S, that comes out on top. Why? Because, as a Kings fan, I've witnessed the pure awesomeness of Quick in a do or die game. I'm sure Pavelski, Oshie and Backes are ecstatic they're on his side this time around.
I'm just hoping for a classic that we won't soon forget.
I don't get the Bylsma hate. He's a great coach. Then again, it's hfboards, so I answered my own question.

HFBoards=what have you done for me lately. No Cup=no good.
I don't get it.

And no BS penalties late in the game. Just let the boys play!
I haven't been this nervous for a game in a long time, part of me wishes Quick wasn't starting because you know if we lose all the blame will fall on him.
playoff upsets since their Cup win like when they lost to Tampa and Philly
They think their team is the greatest every year and get upset when it loses in the first round so they blame Bylsma
Gonna miss the game cos of work. Will watch it later...
