The cap's been around since 2005 and the Oilers still cannot figure it out. Whoever their capologist is should be fired immediately.

And yes, their scouting is still crap, both pro and amateur. JP, Yamamoto, Bouchard, Broberg, Holloway.... They all barely look like NHLers right now, and that's a good chunk of the lineup.

Even an NHL analyst with midget hockey pedigree can't polish a turd that the team on-ice left and made such an obvious mess. He's another poor hire who has a job for life after stumping for the public funded ice palace.

Puljujarvi-Benson-Yamamoto-Bouchard-Broberg-Holloway-Bourgault make Paajarvi-Hall-RNH-Yakupov + Eberle look like the 80s Oilers.

We're so unused to actual good drafting around these parts. The Lightning's roster is littered with picks they found in later rounds. Hell that Yanni Gourde guy that just clowned us went undrafted.

Part of the problem too is the inability to get proper value for any good players we do have. We have literally nothing to show for MPS/Hall/Eberle/Yakupov. All of them turned into thin air. Those two picks for Reinhart... The AA trade... So much value wasted.

Dude just can't play any D. Is what it is ... he'll be a higher scoring Justin Schultz in a while if he doesn't go full Oiler, but I don't see it with him beyond that. He's a massive defensive liability.
