Oh I know. I'm just making a blanket statement because I'm not sure that really addresses our issues. Pysyk isn't a top pairing guy, he just becomes depth/redundancy, is arguably not better than McNabb, AND we have to give up assets for him. Cap control is sure nice but it comes at a cost. Pysyk/Martinez COULD be a good 2nd pairing, but doesn't seem to be a Sutter-style pairing.

If pysyk does not cost martinez, i would like to see
martinez - Doughty
Muzzin - Pysyk

i hope so. We need some experience in case quick goes down Brygalov would be a smart low risk high reward pickup

issue could be I think LA would need to sign him for 2 years for expansion draft protection. Not sure though, but I am not sure I would take a 2 year gamble on bryz

Bryz was pretty bad in his last stint at the NHL level, I'm not sure he'd be an upgrade over Budaj.

i think it depends on how cheap you get him. If its under a million you get always send him down to the ahl and cap disappears. At worse hes a ahl backup at best he plays 15 -20 games in the nhl

I'm pretty certain that any team signing Bryzgalov would be giving him a two-way contract. No way a team is going to take a risk in giving him a one-way. No team is that desperate.

what's the risk of a 1-way? 1 way contracts can still get demoted to the ahl (see Richards). The only thing is a 2-way deal gets paid a different amount if they are in the AHL then the NHL.

he would have to requrie waivers on a 2-way due to age I believe. So really I don't see any extra risk of 1-way vs 2-way, but I may not know all the ins and outs of the differences between the two.

Kings don't have the cash for any of these guys...Find a name who is struggling to find a pro job or a vet who is older like Budaj who will take the league minimum.

You're paying him more to play in the minors on a one-way deal. It's not just cap space GMs try to save on. There are budgets and actual dollars in play as well. Why pay an NHL salary for a goalie who may be your 3rd string backup?

The Kings need a backup but they're not that desperate to give a one-way to a goalie who is trying to prove he belongs in the NHL.

I completely get that but what is the "risk" you describe? I would not say an owner saving $400K is a risk, it is something to consider for sure, but I would not say it would be a risk.

Somone mentioned Krejci to St. Louis for Shattenkirk on the trade board. Makes sense, especially if the Blues lose Backes. Apparently they're getting Sobotka back from the KHL as well. I'm sure the price is steep for Shatty.

pretty high price for the Bruins if Shats walks

So everyone's making moves and the Kings are just changing the letters on their jerseys around. Good stuff.

What moves today did you want LA to be in on? Giving up picks for UFA rights with no guarantee they would sign is stupid cause LA does not have a lot of picks as is. And Andersson would make no sense in LA cause you know...Quick.
