To Los Angeles:
Thomas Vanek
Evgeni Nabokov

To New York:
2014 1st round pick
Martin Jones
Linden Vey

To Boston:
Andrew MacDonald

To New York:
2014 1st round pick

I dont think the kings would give Toffoli or Jones away for Vanek. Vey or Pearson along with a 1st would probably be the main pieces coming back.

How would Isles fans feel about these deals?

To Los Angeles:
Thomas Vanek

To New York:
2014 1st round pick
2015 3rd round pick (becomes 2nd if Kings reach Conference Finals)
Tanner Pearson

To Boston:
Andrew MacDonald
Evgeni Nabokov

To New York:
2014 1st round pick
Anthony Camara/Jared Knight
Chad Johnson

Eh, I think we can get more for Vanek from LA. I'd like Linden Vey and Pearson if we could somehow score that. And I don't think Nabokov's getting traded, especially to Boston. He's either retiring at the end of this year or coming back to NYI.

Salary cap is a big problem with LA, would need to be careful in regards money there. Even if we retained 50% of Vanek's contract LA still couldn't fit that deal in, remove Nabby though...

If we were to do a deal with LA, I would love to get Hudson Fasching in the deal but it's very difficult to make the money work but Pearson and Fasching in a Vanek trade would be great value.

My dream deals would be something like:

I really like Vey and Pearson but because they are just hitting the NHL right now as prospects, I doubt LA gives them both up. I could see a Pearson and Fasching type deal because Hudson Fasching is still in University so is a few years away yet. Therefore LA would only be giving up 1 guy off their roster who they replace with an elite winger in Vanek, just my opinion though.

I saw that one, and I don't understand why Tampa would do that at all if they are heading into the playoffs.
That's just the rumor I heard and it matches up somewhat with what Boomer's reporting. We shall see tomorrow if my sources are right. They are always just rumors until a deal is consummated.

I see Girardi is struggling to get a deal with the Rangers sorted as well. I would be really surprised if the Rangers ended up dealing him because they couldn't come to terms on a deal.

I think if they deal Callahan then they will push hard to sign Girardi.

No doubt, I just don't understand the hold up. Reports suggest contract discussions have hit a snag though even though Girardi isn't asking for the world.

He wants something like $5.5m over 6 years but the Rangers have been haggling offering $5m over 6 and $5.5m over 5 years. Girardi could be pissed it's taking so long and decided to test UFA.

Nino has been a solid 2nd/ 3rd line player this year for the Wild. No reason he couldn't be doing the same here which would have increased his value. Instead we traded for and signed an overpaid 4th line banger on the downside of his career. I would have gladly taken my chances with Nino over Clutterbuck. If Nino was a RFA and bolted overseas than so be it, of course he never gave any indication ever he would do that.

I am not sure why some blindly defend the Nino situation. The organization torpedoed his value and we have an overpaid 4th line player with our 5th overall pick. Blame Snow, blame Wang, blame them both. Any way you slice it the team royally ****ed up the Nino situation

I think many people defend the Nino situation (NOT BLINDLY) because he wasn't a character guy. Nobody wants a Kirk Muller type guy on this team if it comes with attitude. Of course, if you are going to eliminate an intangible like character, then you have to give Snow a pass for not speaking about supporting JT because once again, that's an intangible and has to do with character.

Nino was an asset that we had control over for 5-7 years, I don't remember the UFA rule right now. His option was us or Europe. Nabby and Viz joined the team over way worse circumstances than Nino would have. Nabby and Viz showed horrible attitudes and lack of "intangibles" (A BS term used by announcers and fans). Most on HF myself included wanted no part of Nabby after the stunt he pulled. Once he came and played and showed his true character many began to appreciate him (at least pre Pens series). The same could be said about Viz, only his situation wasn't as bad as Nabby. Nino could have came up this year produced got along with teammates and all would have been forgotten like it was with Nabby and Viz. No one has the crystal ball to know what could have happened if Nino was an Islander this year. It is BLIND to defend how the organization handled Nino and the overpaid 4th liner we have to show for a 5th overall pick. Blame Snow , Wang, or both but the organization crapped the bed with Nino with every opportunity.

The Snow comment makes zero sense, Snow has yet to publicly support JT and his recovery. Snow made a lousy remark about money. You let your blind hate of me get in the way of reading comprehension.

I'd rather take subban back if we could or flip amac to ANH for Andersen.

I like the thought process with LA? Id rather have toffoli and fasching/muzzin. I'm ok with taking fasching as long as they are committed to signing a dman in the offseason, otherwise I want Muzzin.

With the Islanders luck lately, I am kind of hoping Snow trades Vanek before the game on Thursday as he will probably get hurt....

Both Vanek and AMac should not play until they are traded. Clearly, the team is going nowhere and they will need to fill in with players from Bridgeport after they are gone anyway.

There are 6 games between now and the 3/5 deadline. Playing them could do far more harm than good at this point.

There's no way they don't trade him. Why would they not ?

If there is someone out there that needs him, why would they wait to get him? If there isnt a deal in place now, before the teams start playing again, I am not sure why there would be one later.

It's possible that there are offers, and that Snow is holding out for something better. I'm also sure that teams probably want to see how they come out of the gate after the break before deciding whether or not they need to make a move.

Even if you are right and no one has made an offer(which I doubt), a lot can change after 3-5 games. Desperation can kick in at any time, especially as the deadline nears. No reason for Snow to rush things.
