Kreider should not be moved at all. He's a beast. Do we have to move everybody that has value?

May as well, not many players in this team will still be here the next time we sniff the SCF imho so right now we need to get some premium prospects to compliment our young core.

He's 27 and not ready for old folks home just yet. This team still needs young vets and leadership too. The team can't be made up entirely of 19-22 yo's.

I think if Zibanejad was hovering around a 50-55 point pace he’d be there as well. But I think for that to happen, the Rangers would have to be blown away, revived, and then blown away a second time for good measure.
I will say, if Kreider does get traded, I feel like there’s a huge chance a majority of people around here are going to hate the return

It wouldn’t be even if he’s gone, he’s one guy. His value is also significantly higher than anyone else’s.

Nylander would be the dream. Brassard trade 2.0. Don't see it happening. Maybe at the draft, but probably still a pipe dream.

Something around Brannstrom or Glass could also be a great deal.

EDIT - but I agree with the above, posted it a few times last week. Think return on Kreider would be severely underwhelming to most of HF NYR. Think board value >> market value.

Lundqvist, Staal, Shattenkirk, Smith, Zbad, Fast, Skjei, Buch, Strome, Namestnikov, Vesey...

This team has Vets. We’re not entirely made up of 19-22 year olds.

Watch them trade Kreider for Puljujarvi plus. I'd have to kill myself two times. Once because of the stupid trade, and again because I'd have to deal with the incessant use of the dumb ass "Pool party" nickname for the next decade.
Well if the plus is Edmonton's first this year :naughty:

Trade McQuaid and Hayes and get as much as you can.

Gotta be careful with Chris. He could be the next captain. He’s a physical specimen who could probably out-year most forwards.

Gotta be careful you don’t get too trade happy and make a silly snap decision at the deadline. The return for Kreider has to be almost a no brainer to pull the trigger

I’m going to guess if they move Kreider, it’ll most likely be something in the mold of the Muzzin deal. It all basically boils down to semantics for what Gorton will consider a “foundational” piece.

We all assume that description means it's a guy in the league already. Might end up being someone unproven that the team really likes.

Just had a friend tell me three teams talked to the Rangers more than once about Kreider today.

I know I’ve been beating this horse since last season, but this is not a long shot by any stretch.
What teams have both the need for him and are prepared to pay out that ass? They're probably gonna want to re-sign him too.

Toronto could use an upgrade @ 1LW, but they don't have their 2019 1st, and their cap situation is going to get pretty goofy over the next year (lol.)

Carolina has needed forwards basically forever, and their owner made a crack this season about the team having too many defensemen but not enough goal-scoring. Doesn't sound like a particularly patient guy, nor should he be considering how long that team has been muddling around in nothingness. They've also climbed to a payoff spot but have Pittsburgh up their ass, 'nuff said there. Unsurprisingly have a good supply of draft picks and cap space; a few defensemen 25-yr-old or younger. I don't know what their prospect pool looks like, but honestly they'd be nuts to not be calling in on Kreider.

Arizona is beating Winnipeg right now, they'd be 3 pts out of WC2 with a game in hand. Chayka loves ballsy trades, and Gorton has already made a big one with him before. Not really sure what they have to trade, their roster is an infirmary right now. They'd have to deal with Kreider and Galchenyuk approaching UFA status at the same time.

Tampa is not quite as stacked at the wing as you'd expect, Kreider would definitely be their best LW. They've been trying to absorb the 2013-14 Rangers for a while now. And I know they have the prospects, because this board is constantly talking about them, not to mention Sergachev. Not even going to look at their cap space because they somehow always have enough. That team is sitting pretty right now but it'd be a massive failure to not go on a deep run this year, maybe the pressure is there to not take any chances.

Boston Idk what sort of assets they have to work with. Winnipeg has a stacked top-6 but Laine is either scoring or not scoring, and either way is doing f***-all on the ice besides shooting. Nashville could certainly use Kreider but pretty soon Roman Josi is gonna get paaaaaid. Colorado is on the bubble and they only have like three good forwards.

Kreider is the most likely to be the next captain of this team and I think he should be kept around, we can’t trade everyone as some people would like to even while we burn this thing down to the ground. Any Kreider deal would absolutely have to blow gorton away.

Those that want trades just for the sake of adding picks or shiny new toy prospects will turn to bitching about the cap hit on a Kreider deal as if we have the same old puke inducing capfriendly page which were slowly getting away from, and now have the cap flexibility.
