Rangers have 3 players on TSN's top 50 Traidbait list.

Reactions: Filthy Dangles
Worth noting - Gorton’s McD TB deal went down to the final minute, and he made the concession to get that done. He refused to have a repeat of that desperation this year.

I would gather he dealt Zucc first out of respect - 36 hours of coverage loyal to 36, followed by Hayes before noon today.

As of right now, I'd be shocked if either of them didn't go top 5.

The interesting thing is that if you consider Hughes and Kakko as givens, that leaves Dach, Cozens, Byram, Podkolzin, Boldy, and a host of others who have been ranked anywhere from third to outside the top 10 for the three remaining slots. And there's almost always a player or two who sneaks into that top 5 or 10 that people didn't have on their lists in February.

To be fair, Brooks realized he'd actually have to stay up to watch the games and learn how to spell their names to report on the prospects. May even have to check in with the AHL team once in a while.

Only to get less clicks than he did before.

If I were him, my new strategy to stir the pot, start a narrative that if the Rangers trade away too many planks, tectonic plates will shift and Manhattan will end up next to Buffalo.

Lol "out of respect". I highly doubt Gorton cares about something like that

I think we'll be legit contenders in two years.
Probably NOT that legit, but certainly relevant. 2 things.

Have to keep Kreids.
Hank still playing well.
Defense progressively better.
Re-sign Hayes while
Adding Panarin, Hall, Stone or similar.

Yes, Hall. On my list after next year.

If most goes well, I've kind of eyed 2022/2023 as about the time things should begin to crest.
About a year earlier than that. They'll load up some for Hanks last year on his contract, then REALLY load up the year after.

I don't really agree. When I saw the headline I reacted like hmm what is this now? But I think Brooks makes a very good point. Hayes is still young and we could have resigned him at a fairly OK rate multiple times. We didn't and traded him away instead.

Right or wrong -- but nobody can claim that Gorton showed great confidence in Kevin Hayes. It has definitely been the complete opposite. Right?

Do you think that maybe Hayes wanted to test the UFA market? Why wouldn't the Rangers sign him for longer than a year if they could have? More trade value if he was not a rental.
