GDT: Official Trade Deadline Thread Part XXX

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. You might be right and it won’t happen but for a difference between a 2nd rounder vs 3rd (for argument sake) it is a pretty reasonable gamble by Gorton. Another attempt at a boom option if you will that so many here want him to go for.

Edit: Another thing to remember is that this 2nd rounder was always going to be the prime piece of the return for Zuke and Gorton was able to secure the likely highest 2nd rounder that was an option.

So far the draft 2 years ago has been disappointing considering we had 2 first round picks who have struggled. Sure they are young but you need picks like these to turn out to be good otherwise you are not building anything.

Yeah, its more of a timeline from when we can if we are able to start going for it. We just got to many bad defencemen with to bad contracts to build a good team at the moment.

not worried about the cap next year.

Girardi drops to $1M and spooner comes off the year after.
 
Welp, I have work related nonsense to deal with the next 24 hours so I bid adieu for now. Don't get too mad at Namestnikov for today's game. Good chance he's out of here by 3 PM.

Hopefully the return for Hayes is solid to very good. I'm expecting them to take back a bad contract even just for this season.

I think they like the guy. He and Strome are two solid pieces to a third line.

Very low chance Namestnikov is traded. Most teams have rando 3rd liners as good or better, and most of them are for sale.
