Yeah. But he will be a summer move if he ever moves. I could see him traded with 50% retained to St. Louis or Calgary if their golie woes continue trough this playoff.Hank blowing his stack again smashing his stick.
Maybe he’s not into the rebuild as much as before.
JG ask him again.
No one seems to want to understand, there is not only two options on the Zucc extend condition.Dallas didn't acquire Zuccarello with the thought that he is a bad player and not worth having long term. Let's start there and have some semblance of reality. Dallas just gave up 2 assets for a rental.
This is a player they have had interest in for a long time. This trade hopefully puts them over the top and into the playoffs. It also gives them a leg up on showing him Dallas, the players, the facilities. They can have conversations. This gives Dallas a head start on signing a player they have scouted before.
The conditions are there because he, by his own admission, played bad when he was unhappy. Dallas needs to vet him as much as Zuccarello needs to vet them. If he plays well, that means both sides are happy and there is a good chance he stays.

No thanks. Not enough from a Rangers perspectiveWhat the....
They certainly have both roster players and futures to offer.
Have to imagine Palat or Killorn get dealt for cap purposes as part or that deal or in a separate deal. The Rangers can play into this too.
To TB: Ristolainen
To BUF: Palat, Katchook, TB 1st 2019 (Rangers get TB's 2nd rounder), Cernak
To NYR: Callahan, aforementioned TB 2nd (thusly removing the Cup winning condition for the last deal), Taylor Raddysh, TB 2020 3rd

Good call on Calgary. Smith is a UFA after this season.
Why wait if Hank might want that chance on a really good team.
Take back Smith this year move forward with Georgie.
Package Hank with Hayes Calgary would be possible the best team in the West. Again we need to take back salary in Smith but I wonder if he would even consider it.
I was essentially saying I’d prefer a mid second and top 10 first over two late firsts. If If only one of the conditions is met, I’d prefer it be on next year’s pick. How does them missing the playoffs, and us getting their 2nd round pick (say 45th pick) work out better than them going to the WCF and us getting their 1st round pick (around 28th)?
I can see CGY interested in Georgiev but I'd be more than happy to give them Lundqvist @ 50% if he waived his NMC.. I HIGHLY doubt it tho
Even if he did waive the return would likely not be worth having $4.25MM of dead cap space for 2 more years after this season. Would almost be $9MM in dead cap space between Girardi, Lundqvist and Spooner next season.
I don't think we will be able to compete until 21-22 season when all of Hank, Staal, Smith and Shattenkirk is off the books. Think using some dead cap on retaining Hank will net us more assets then just taking on a bad contract from a contender. ALso a pissed off grumpy Hank is not something I would have around the kids getting their feet wet in the NHL.
It'd be pretty crazy imo. He said he didn't want to go anywhere just least year, I doubt he suddenly wants to move and wants to go to Columbus of all places to spend the rest of his career on a different team, especially one that might have Duchene, Panarin an Bob all walk in a few months. With CBJ all in, Bob known for his playoff struggles and his best friend Zuc gone, would it be so crazy for JD to call Hank and convince him on coming to Columbus? Then they have their goalie for their next three runs.
Its hard to predict when we will be able to compete when we have no clue as to how the draft will go and whether any of the so called prized prospects we picked the last 2 years turn into anything. So far the draft 2 years ago has been disappointing considering we had 2 first round picks who have struggled. Sure they are young but you need picks like these to turn out to be good otherwise you are not building anything.I don't think we will be able to compete until 21-22 season when all of Hank, Staal, Smith and Shattenkirk is off the books. He can afford to take him with him.Lundqvist isn't going anywhere so long as his hair guy remains in New York.
