And people need to chill on the Hayes front. He's the top center available on the market, we'll do well there.
Creative stipulations. I like it a lot.
That they aren't likely to hit is sort of not relevant. It's better equity wise than a 2nd and some toad taken in the 3rd round in 2017 for obvious reasons.

And Dallas’ ownership is really pushing for the team to contend, I think Zucc resigning there is going to come down to if Zuccarello wants to stay there, not if the Stars want to keep their first
I certainly hope it happens. But it’s going to require a lot to fall into place. But a small chance is better than no chance, of course.
If he doesn’t re-sign with Dallas, second option for me is him coming back to the Rangers. Though I suspect that ship has sailed.

They could have just had no conditions. That would be better for Dallas, yanno?
They essentially did... you’re asking for A barely holding on wildcard team to win two rounds and/or resign an aging forward after they’ve been public about this being a last shot and potentially rebuilding

At worst it's a 2nd and 3rd, at best two 1sts, Not too sure what the problem with that is given so many liked the anything can happen in playoffs ideas that went around when the Rangers were entering them, along with the ideas that extending pending UFAs was a good idea.

You're looking at it from fan eyes vs. ownership eyes.

Dallas isn't owned by Jim Dolan. They need playoff revenue. They need to compete. If Zucc goes there and catches fire, they may want to re-sign him to a 4-5 year deal. That could be worth a 2020 1st for them. Playoff revenue means millions extra for the Stars.

If they make the playoffs(they’re on track to be a wildcard team) it’s not because of Zucc. Let’s face it they’re pushing now because Benn and Seguin are getting old

Lol.

You know it is bad when I am the voice of reason. I mean, I am the guy that changed his username to Fire Gorton after the Stepan deal. He's done well and he did well here too. Very well. I am really happy with this deal.

Effen laid it out best....

Bobby Mac for the last month: Zucc is worth a 2nd+
2/23/2019: Zucc traded for a 2nd+
HFNYR: REEEEEEEEEE!

I mean, there are a select few people who straight up said they would be pissed if thats all he got - Those guys have every right to be upset with management. The others? They should only be mad at themselves for having unattainable expectations.

I'd rather have those conditions than a random 6th rounder.

I might be late to this but did anyone mention Hayes following some Predators players a few hours ago?
