could listen to WEEI from 6am to 10pm everday 10 years ago but its so boring now

If the Whiner Line had switched to only being funny impersonations it would still be around. It just got way way way too nasty by the end. But I still laugh thinking about the guy who did the Chara/Dave Lewis conversations.

Just put myself through listening to Wallach host the morning show. Absolutely brutal, guy just interrupts and talks over everybody else including guests.
Wallach brings absolutely nothing to the table. One of the most boring characters in radio history. Would be nice for Toucher to retire or take a leave of absence for his voice and then have Wallach transition to full time radio gig for Celtics games (when Gorman retires). Find a new host to work with Rich.

I honestly think the tension between Fred and Wallach is real. Wallach wouldn’t have his current platform and be in position to take over the Cs gig without T&R and seems like he wasn’t honest with them about calling so many games this year, thus leaving them in limbo for a constant third guy. Also have a feeling Fred is on his way out. I feel for the guy, seems like he has a lot of issues. Hope he gets well. Wouldn’t mind Rich with Hardy in the AM

The issue is Fred not Wallach.
From what I have gathered over the last few months, it sounds like Wallach was asked to do fill in work and went to both Fred and Rich for their blessing before accepting. The gave their blessing but whenever he's upset or wanting to be a dbag, Fred goes after Wallach for it. He's doing the same to Nick over the birth of his son. The guy is simply miserable and a bit jealous.
The real issue is Fred. He needs to be fired once and for all.
Also, Wallach has been calling basketball games for quite some time. He was with Bryant for a number of years. He is 100% qualified and deserved the opportunity he has been given

His biggest issue was asking “hey Mike can anyone hear us there” before he said it. He 100% forgot he was on the radio.
Got it. Just from listening to Fred it sounded like the opposite. I should have known better than to trust his opinion. So he’s just being a jerk to be a jerk. I really hope Nick goes to greener pastures then. He doesn’t need that negativity in his life with a newborn.
I know 98.5 has had insane ratings but they have an opportunity to change things up with the night show open. Add to that Mazz in limbo and Fred all over the place. I also wouldn’t mind seeing that miserable d bag Jim Murray replaced. His shtick is so old.

Fred is awful. Half the time I listen he's just yelling at callers or ranting about stuff for no reason. It's not pleasant first thing in the morning.
The problem is that I don't think Rich can host on his own, he's a good dude and does create good funny content, but Fred is the leader, the one running the point so to speak. Rich plays off of him really well by bringing a little lightness to Fred's heaviness. When Fred has been out and Rich has had to host with just Wallach and Joe Murray, it's not a very strong show. I feel like they'd need to bring another host in to fill that role for Rich to be at his best, but I don't think they have anyone on staff now that can slide in there, they'd have to look externally.
Given that I don't think Wallach adds much of anything to begin with, a rotating 3rd guy on their show is probably just as good. I didn't think of Hardy as a replacement but him and Rich could work well together.

Hardy to host with Rich would work imo. Joe Murray isn’t strong on a show but is really good solo imo. It’s a funny/light show. Would like to see Joe get the night gig.

So you are the one person who listens to him. I always wondered.
I turned on Sports Hub over the weekend and the gambling show was on. They were talking Kennesaw State men's basketball and trying to give some informed opinion on how to bet their game. It was god awful. I changed after that, just wanted to hear what ridiculous game they were breaking down. I don't know how anybody could listen to their show.
