He took maybe a handful of games.or so to really get back to form after a terrible spear hit, helmet to knee, took him out. His only other significant injury was from another questionable tackle last year. He may not be 100% quite yet in game 1, but he'll have had more time to recover from this injury. The Bucs weren't getting anyone better and younger for cheaper, and there's no wr in the draft they should be wasting a 1st rd pick on either. Godwin was leading the league in receptions and tied 3rd for td's when he went down, and for the Bucs to get him for 3x22, when there were reports that some teams may have offered him 4 years at 25 million, is fantastic work by Licht and the Bucs.I'm actually not thrilled with re-signing Godwin. The guy has had several major injuries and coming back from his last one he looked very mediocre for quite awhile. What's he going to look like next season after his latest major injury? He's not getting any younger and he has had numerous surgeries now, I'm just not expecting much out of him to be honest.

I heard rumors that at least a couple teams were considering offering him a 4 year deal worth 90-100 million. Idk how real those offers may have been, but it does seem fairly realistic that he took less, both in years and aav, to stay with Tampa.I read he left 20+ million on the table to sign with the Bucs.
