Also I like the Delahanty pick for me since it lets me institute a bit of a platoon. Against righties, Oh will go to 1st and against lefties it will be Delahanty. Carew moves to 2nd. Lou Whit takes a big L at the end of the day but whatever.

Doubling up, starting at whatever round, is fine with me.

But I am just one vote. Guessing it would have to be unanimous to move forward with it though. As it is a pretty significant change to pre-existing rules set forth.

Assuming that the league average runs/game is 4.50, you can calculate Smith's pythagenpat winning percentage in each year and subtract replacement level (0.420) from this winning percentage, and multiply by innings pitched divided by 9.

Not an exact science but gives some sort of context to go on. I can't take credit for doing that work though.

Much obliged.

A whole lot of assuming in it, but at least there's a method.

Eh, the BBHOF released league average data, Eric Chalek who has done a lot of work on NEL data did estimates for RC/game. RA+ calculated from that and the data in the earlier post derived WAR from RA+. Some assumptions (specifically around defensive support) but I would not backhandedly compliment all that work with the caviat of it being a whole lot of assumptions. Especially since the engine was from the BBHOF. We know stats from that league/era are rough, but we have to try.

So if it gets to 4:09 and nobody's picked yet do both picks get skipped?

And if Vegeta does pick does darko's clock reset to start whenever that pick is made?

I had Sale queued up a couple rounds ago but needed to pick a couple of pen arms before a #5 SP/swing guy, plus I wanted another 2B and Grich was the last of the upper-tier guys. Thought maybe I'd pick Sale on this turn, oh well.

There definitely is a big difference between a 16 team league and a 20. All these teams are ridiculously good.

I wasn't here for the 20-team league (I think I'm one of the two rookies in this draft by my calculation) but one thing I find, I've been using the previous year or two's pick numbers to help determine value but the longer you go in the draft the less accurate it seems to be. Last year's pick #250 was round 13, this year's pick #250 is round 16 for example - the drafting philosophy and needs are a lot different between those three rounds.

Relief pitchers went a lot earlier this year. That is the big difference.
