jansen really developing nicely defensively
And Moreno will force them to carry three after the JRam deal.Kirk's gonna force them to carry three catchers.
In the absence of another acquisition its a good problem to have since Kirk can DH regularly and spell enough rest for Janssen to stay completely fresh.Kirk's gonna force them to carry three catchers.
Phenomenal range. Healthy for sure.chapman is so good man lol, short hop and got rid of that ball so damn fast with a perfect throw.
ye, its gonna help so much with SS too.Phenomenal range. Healthy for sure.
While we're talking about catchers I'd like to remind anyone who forgot how good Jano was post April:
156 PA - .948 OPS, 11HR, 151 wRC+, .289 BABIP.
Of Catchers with 150 PA last season only one (Grandal) had a better wRC+ than that over the season, and only 7 guys had a wRC+ over 120. He ended the season with a 105 wRC+ (Kirk had a 106). Those 156 PA are probably not his new normal, but he's always been a well-above average hitter since his glasses, besides the horrible BABIP luck he's had basically since becoming a major leaguer.
Yep, I remain sold on Jansen becoming a star. He's shown he's capable of doing pretty much everything you want of a catcher, so now it's a matter of putting it all together.
Yeah, but I don't think it's that abnormal for a catcher to break out around this age.I agree, but he's also just about 27. We're rapidly approaching "he is what he is" territory if we aren't already there already, barring some sort of crazy Bautista-esque explosion to prominence.
Sometimes I forget how old he is. I feel like he should only be 24-25 and more in line with the other kids on the team.
Alright everyone, drink for the Jeter reference. Doesn't matter that it's the middle of the afternoon in a spring training game. If anything those facts should make this unnecessary Jeter reference worth multiple drinks
