Good. All this hype surrounding Marco Luciano when Orelvis is the same age and put up better numbers last year.

I feel the same way about Moreno. Some lists have 2-3 catchers ahead of him and Moreno is either younger and/or has produced better numbers at higher levels.

I get Rutschman has the hype of being a 1:1 prospect but he is two full years older than Moreno and his AA wRC+ was 145 compared to Moreno’s 192. But one shouldn’t get a 70 FV to Moreno’s 60. The gap is much closer.

No Kirk? I wonder if the reason why they don’t want to give up Kirk is because they already agreed to give up Orelvis in the deal. And you don’t want to give up Orelvis and Kirk+.

No way you give up Orelvis.....no way.

If the 2 strike approach from the spring carries through the season, Orelvis will be a top 10 prospect in all of baseball next year.

If Moreno even comes close to repeating last year, he's #1 (doesn't hurt that a few of the guys above him will graduate).

And Tiedemann is a top 25 guy with the improved stuff and what he has shown.

LOL, story to redsox huh? this could go the way of sandoval for them

Story was one of my least favourite free agent targets, so I don't hate that Boston got him, especially since they didn't exactly get a big discount to sign him and they're going to move him off SS (at least until Bogaerts opts out next year).

The opt out structure is nice for them, though.

I imagine not hitting at Coors for half his games is going to make him quite happy to stay in for the full 6-Years when the numbers arent up to par.

ye those splits are terrifying, this screams "shit we havent been able to sign anyone, so lets get the last big guy available and hope he works" strategy.

It's like how the Jays would miss out on the first and second tier FA's, and then throw money at ass-level players.

Hey, at least he's a top-5 defensive SS in the league. Oh? They already have a star SS that's better overall and may be a FA soon? Dont wanna piss him off. Maybe he can play 3B instead? Wait, they have the 2nd best 3B by WAR last season? Hm, guess he'll primarily be a 2B. So they just signed a 2B for 6 years with a bat that has a career 98 wRC+ against righties and a 98 wRC+ outside of Coors.

Not even mad this one's in our division.

Yes Buck, there was a time that Randal was the hottest hitter in the Blue Jays lineup. It's called "every season for maybe a month to month and a half. Then he undoes all those gains by sucking in equal measure."

Yes, Gurriel's a great hitter because he hit 3 grand slams. How good was he that he got to go up to bat with the bases loaded enough to hit 3 HRs in those situations? Not like that hack Semien who hit all those solo HRs because he couldn't make the guys ahead of him get on base more.
