Its unlikely, but I wouldnt rule it out. Cap increasing and he takes a somewhat team friendly ($5x4yr or something, depending on production) and Pavs either retires or does another 1 yr bonus laden contract. And/Or faksa or marchy is traded

I think the plan ahead is Bourque and Stankoven taking that next step in 2024-25 to take some of the fowards spots that will be open.

Agreed, but man I was hoping to see Stank full time this season already lal.

I'm not as high on Bourque as some but I'd like to see how he handles the NHL sooner than 2024. I guess injury problems to top six players will be the only way that happens.

I think we should call the Hurricanes.

Marchment, Faksa, Stranges, Hakinpaa and Ty Dellandrea
For
Pesce, ???? and a filler.
Then we move our attention to
Tarasenko.

This way we will have the space to move on from certain players once they make ready Stankoven and Bourque.

Sign Stastny and Dumba

This also makes sure Harley is up and Nils.

I don’t think Carolina wants a grab bag of mediocre to bad players/contracts for Pesce. No team really wants that.

I think they only trade him if they can land EK, in which case they will likely want futures for Pesce as they will need cap space.

What is Pesce worth signed for 1 year? Bourque + a 1st? Bourque + a 2nd? I have no idea. Then we have to move out a contract like Faksa or Marchment to fit Pesce. We are going to have to give up some value to make it all happen.
