Ouch

What are people's thoughts on Campbell getting an offer? Was called up towards the end of the year and then was also in the first group of Black Aces called up. Of course the Kings are awful crowded on the backend with 14 D under contract already and that doesn't count Gravel.
Schultz is being glorified because of the dux series. In the long haul, I think Campbell would be a better overall fit.
Agree with this, also wasn't Soupy the captain for the Monarchs this past year?
A part of me thinks the offer is at least made to him of a one way contract and the Kings try to sneak him to Manchester. It's not like he has a glut of NHL experience and any team that picks him up has to keep him in the NHL.
Of course it may push someone like Ebert, MacDermid, or Roach to Ontario, but that's the only real downside.
I have always liked and wanted to see Campbell on the roster However i think the time has come and gone. I hope to see him get a shot somewhere else.
Prokhorkin (was signed about a month and a half ago right?)
That's complicated...
- He gets drafted by the Kings, signs a contract, and then begins playing with Manchester.
- Moscow Dynamo comes flying in and says they already had a contract with him so his NHL deal with the Kings is voided.
- Moscow Dynamo tells Prokhorkin that he can do a buyout of the contract, but he has to use his own money to do it -- not money provided by the Kings.
- This summer he shells out the money, Moscow Dynamo let him out of the contract, and the Kings sign him to a contract again.
- This time the KHL itself comes running and tells him that he should have read the fine prints of his contract because he needed to inform them first before proceeding with any buyout.
So technically he's stuck in contract limbo right now until it all eventually gets sorted out between the KHL and NHL.
Well I'm not entirely convinced he isn't in the Kings plan anymore. DL loves to have a couple older players ready to go in Manchester as seen by Schultz and Fraser spending time there this past year and guys like Mullen, Paddock, Rodney, Stewart, Hunter, etc being there in the past.
With Campbell getting a call-up as a black ace this year I think he may still be in the Kings plans, maybe not with the Kings but as a potential call-up in Manch.

With Mitchell gone and McNabb moving up, I would think the Kings may look at a veteran to sign to a two-way deal, similar to what they did with Jeff Schultz. Or they can just bring Schultz back on a similar contract.
They don't sign two way deals, they can't. It's a one way deal that they end up clearing waivers. Anyone could have claimed Shutltz when they Kings sent him down after training camp.
Schultz wasn't earning a minor league salary in Manchester? I know he cleared waivers, two-way contracts have nothing to do with waivers. I don't think a team would sign a guy close to $1M to be their 8th defenseman playing in Manchester.
Today is the day we trade Nolan for a pick.
Buffalo is good place for Nolan to go to. He can play for his dad. It'd be funny if he ever gets healthy scratched there. Has that ever happened? Ever?
