If this gets confirmed by some well-known guys soon, there's no way you can just write this guy off as a lucky guess.

If true, I would like to announce that per my sources Springer is headed to the Jays.

Edit: for those curious on how this could potentially be a successful guess, it was said that Springer was likely to sign this week. With the news out of NY today and smoke from the last 48 hours that his interesting in Toronto is real, it was a fair guess. If you look at any FA rumored to go to Toronto, as soon as there is smoke that a decision is pending, twitter lights up with "according to sources" tweets. All you need is one correct and boom you've now got a blog and social media presence.

Considering no established insiders are willing to distance themselves from the rumours, my guess is the at the very least negotiations are heating up and could be close at the moment.

I wasn't referring to Vendetta. I was referring to the originator, who has no bio information on his profile to indicate who he is or where his info would come from, and whose recent history is mostly filled with him retweeting the likes of Rosenthal and Morosi and providing commentary on the things that the Jays do/don't do.
I wasn't referring the other guy, who I definitely wouldn't take seriously. Just found it interesting that Vendetta would even comment on the tweet. Still though, not the greatest source.

This is I believe the reality. It lines up with what we've seen the last 48 hours, where sources have said his interest is real and that they expect a decision this week (tomorrow is Wednesday)

had is past tense... right??

Ya, at this point I don't think any of them actually know for certain. They just know a deal is coming. With the Mets news coming out, I at least personally, wouldn't wanna be the guy that shows up a day later and says "it just felt like the right place to be". Not ideal for the brand, even if that's not fair considering they did the right thing.

Vendetta is our hope. Fingers crossed he's got it nailed

I believe with the signing of Yates, the Jays are at the 40 roster limit. I'm assuming either a trade is going to happen or they will be releasing someone before the Springer signing is announced.

Vendetta is legit. He’s broken many news stories before it’s happened. Broke Tavares signing, Babcock firing, Nylander contract and Marner contract. I know some may say it’s all hockey.

But he has broken baseball news for the Jays like Ryu signing, and Bautista coming back. He also broke Gibbons coming back for second stint.

I didn't realize the Brendon Khun was a Jays Nation writer, I mean the Nation Network folks aren't exactly Sportsnet but I dont believe I can recall them lying at any point for no reason.

A lot of the Leafs reporters we know and love came up through the Nation Network.
