If this ultimately comes to pass, I will say again that I'd be surprised if the deal actually ends up being a good one. Plenty of historical context that points to it going sour.

Having said that, landing a big fish two years in a row is a great step forward for the franchise's credibility

I'm not even sure who the hell this guy is supposed to be to have any sort of clout to tweet that.

EDIT: in browsing his last few days of tweets he appears just to be some schmo fan that spends a lot of time retweeting reporter news tweets and providing unsolicited opinions to his 1,300 followers.

Even if it turns out Springer does sign with the Jays this guy should get no fame/respect because by all appearances this isn't him providing insider information, it's him taking a stab in the dark and lucking into being right.

If I say right now that it's going to rain tomorrow without reviewing a weather report or looking out my window and it does rain tomorrow it doesn't make me a meteorologist or a prophet.

Must be true considering Twitter's new role as the Ministry of Truth. o_O

Depends 100% on term imo.

If true regarding Springer, I really hope the front office isn't done and goes after Didi or Semien as well and I really hope they bring back Walker. It's clear he loved his time year and what this team is all about, he'd be a solid number 3.

The Jays are not signing Springer, Realmuto, and Bauer.

Bauer is going to be interesting as he has beef with everyone. He hates the Astros so you have to think he will have to smooth things over with Hudgens, our current bench coach, who was the Astros hitting coach during the cheating scandal. We also have Fisher and Teoscar.

Bauer and Mickey Callaway do not get along from their time in Cleveland. Mickey Callaway is now the pitching coach with the Angels.

Mets have enough pitching and barely have money.

SD has enough pitching though i said that 3 different times this off-season but they also have former Astro Joe Musgrove.

I want to add more to this list but im on Springer watch.

lmao just mad you have no sources?

Vendetta isn't a nobody but I don't recall seeing him having any insider info before. Hazel is much more credible, for sure, but I don't wanna read too much into it and get my hopes up. Springer would be such an upgrade.

Guy who reported Ha-Seong Kim negotiations details is now jumping on the initial report. He had details of the Kim negotiations days before others reported it.

This reminds me of the Darvish to the Jays report.

What? No. Just pointing out the difference between being an Eklund and being an actual reporter. If Eklund calls a trade that goes through the next day it doesn't suddenly make him legit because he says enough random stuff that it was always probable that something he put out would be right by accident.

Similarly for this guy saying Springer will sign isn't exactly a huge stretch considering the Jays have been linked to most big name FAs, Springer is a big name FA, the team is looking like it has to do something after losing out on several other high-profile acquisitions, and it's a signing that makes a relative amount of sense in terms of fit.

If he's right about this and he ends up right about other stuff then it's time to put some stock in him. But believing a guy who appears out of nowhere to randomly call a not-too-unreasonable outcome is how we end up with garbage twitter followings like Incarcerated Bob. Or Eklund.

They are probably closing in on a deal as we speak and no one wants to jump the gun offically.

I wasn't referring to Vendetta. I was referring to the originator, who has no bio information on his profile to indicate who he is or where his info would come from, and whose recent history is mostly filled with him retweeting the likes of Rosenthal and Morosi and providing commentary on the things that the Jays do/don't do.
