Just go to Maddy's on a Thursday night, and you'll get a bunch of U of T girls freshmen mostly saying that haha :p

Maddy used to be the spot, many good times were had there. It's prime was during summer of 2011 for me. But then it got taken over by the douchey club crowd and now its just like most other places in Toronto's entertainment district... trash and a sausage fest.

IMO Today:

Sabathia
Dickey
Greinke
Gio
Roy

Sabathia is still at the peak of his career and an absolute ace. If you believe Dickey is somwhere between what he was last year and 2011, then you're looking at him being #2. Greinke is proven in the AL, maybe the best stuff of this group, but ever so slightly inconsistent which bring down his numbers a tad. Gio as great as he was last year I don't think he's that good. Especially if you put him back in the AL. Roy is easily the best of the 5 over his career, but had a bit of a down year (still elite). I'd say he's #5 today, but a month into the season he could be #1.

Thole is going to catch more than Dickey. He'll still spell JP on night-day back to backs, plus you factor in a handful of lost games to injury (even minor you can expect 5 games). Id say he gets about 175.

He was arguably better than Dickey last year, and definitely better than Grienke (we'll leave Sabathia out since he was hurt). He should be third at the very least.

Depends where he was pitching.

Home: 2.74era
Away: 4.78era

It's a good move for Anaheim, but they could have done alot better this offseason.

Those are awful splits considering where he was pitching when he was pitching at home.

He's going to get lit up this year.

He's been just as good at Angel stadium.

small sample size, but I don't see him faring much worse (if at all) playing in Anaheim.

I think you're going to be surprised then.

Seattle is a notorious pitchers park and his splits show that, outside of that stadium, he's a terrible pitcher.

I never said it wasn't, but are you suggesting that Angel stadium isn't a pitcher's park?

Ranger's ballpark heavily inflates his road ERA.

Also, before you attack me, I'm not saying he's a good pitcher. I'm saying he can sustain some of his success from Seattle in Anaheim.

He didn't have much success in Seattle.

He's never been more than a 2.5 WAR player (0.8 WAR this year), and his xFIP has been around 4.5 for the past three years (career 4.7). His SIERA has also been around 4.5 for the past three seasons. Not to mention his actual stuff is pretty bad (go take a look at his pitch f/x if you don't believe me).

Obviously the Angels park is a pitchers park, but it's nothing compared to Seattle. Go look at the park factors. I certainly wouldn't expect an ERA under four from him next year.

I suppose I shouldn't have said that he was going to get lit up, because he's already been getting lit up.

Like I said, I never thought of him as a good pitcher. And what I meant by success is pretty subjective, just being a bottom of the rotation starter, and have the ability to throw 200 innings a season I think is pretty successful.

Am I missing something with Esmil Rogers? His minor league numbers are horrible and his big league numbers are horrible--- why is he a lock to be in the pen?

He has got good stuff and had a break through season this year. Pitching in Colorado might have also skewed his stats a bit.

John Farrell has informed the Boston Red Sox that should the Jays managing position open up that he would like to be considered :sarcasm:

wouldn't mind gose as full time CF next season, guess it would be better for him to go to buffalo for half a year to further develop his bat
however he hit .263 in his second call up. which is pretty good if you ask me, and will keep improving.
I love watching gose on the field, hustles every time, and is in control, I love lawrie but believe he plays a bit wreckless at times
lets go jays
this team is elite

His numbers were mainly terrible in the PCL. Look at what he did in AA before he came up to bigs that same season, he dominated and then sucked like most pitchers do in PCL.

Not that he's been good on the road but he has been ridiculously horrible in Coors. Posted a 11.68 ERA at home in 2011, albeit in limited 24.2 IP. He was mostly a starter until this past season. He continued to struggle with Colorado but something clicked for him with Cleveland. He was great out of the pen for the Indians posting an ERA in the low 3's. Advanced stats also seem to suggest his ERA should be better than what it has been over the past few years as he has been incredibly unlucky (career .357 BABIP and 64.9% LOB). He also throws really hard (averaged at nearly 96mph last year on his fastball). It seemed like something clicked for him with the Indians... I heard he got his mechanics/command straighten out a bit last season so there is upside to picking him up.

He is also out of options and I doubt Jays would risk exposing an arm like him to waivers without even giving him a chance -- and well, that would be kinda stupid since they traded Aviles and Gomes for him.

Pretty much looks like he moved to the 'pen which allowed him to add a couple miles of velocity and drop his secondary breaking pitches and as such he became a different pitcher.

R.A. Dickey breaking down which is the best Star Wars movie on TSN and even drawing comparisons between him and Luke. Loving this guy more and more. Apparently he's a big fan, his family even calls their mini-van the millennium falcon.

Hm So anybody think we will sign another Reliever and if so what are you guys thinking ? Wouldn't K-Rod just be the icing in the cake to the off season

With the addition of Storey we're up to 10 bullpen arms. Still waiting on Oliver's final decision on whether or not he wants to return, which as of this point, doesn't look too good. KRod is too much of a headcase anyway. I think you could get similar production from Brandon Lyon and save a little bit of cash at the same time.

So classy.

Like I said, I don't think he has the stuff to keep that up.

His AL numbers didn't hold a candle to his NL no's. But yeah... at the end of the day all 5 guys are nasty... and Dickey certainly belongs among them going into this season.

I've already become a fan!

On a side note, and I don't know why I'm doing this here, but I think its time for Sachin to retire!
