It surprise's me that he said that because usually he's not a Boston homer, and he went on to bash the Red Sox pretty bad after he said that.

Kinda laughed at the sellout thing, Boston hasn't sold out every game for a couple years now but they still annouce it as a sellout.

And Fenway's capacity is under 40,000..Kind of surprised with the great Red Sox Nation that we always hear about that they can't even sell out under 40,000 seats every night. And it's not like they haven't had contending teams.

Bob Ryan is a turd.
He literally cannot put a coherant sentence together.

Isn't he laughing about how the guy on the Globe thinks it's only good, not great?

thats what im laughing at aswell... the rotation is so good, might not be the best in the league but this team has defense, offense, pitching bullpen they have speed. was just watching a video and the guy said "if you squint hard enough you might see a hole" (might not be exact quote but close enough) and only came up with a closer... well we have Santos who was thought to be REALLY good and was very hyped last season plus Casey Jannsen. If we have Darren Oliver back the pen even looks that much better.

Just wondering with the hype around the team what do you think that opening series attendance will be?

Obviously the first game will be a sell-out

Over 35k reasonable for game 2?

I know there is really no way to know but i'm just wondering what people think.

If I was budgeting for the Blue Jays, I would go with the following for the first homestand

Tuesday: 48
Wednesday: 38
Thursday: 38
Friday: 46
Saturday: 45
Sunday: 48

That's 263K fans for the first homestand, and although its obviously skewed by opening day/weekend matchup with Boston, that's over 10 games worth of fans from last year.

The best part about going to a jays game is Listening to all the girls scream "I love dickey"

Chucky V should get an appreciation thread. He's got balls to sign with the Cubs. Whats the story on this Storey guy? Is he the last pitcher to round our the depth of our bullpen? I guess AA is done? I assume the rest of his moves are just to help out the minor league teams?

Or does he still try to find 1 more player? Like a LH power bat?

EDIT: Just saw this on Storeys stats page at TSN lol thought it was kinda funny. Yankees had enough of him for 2 weeks? So his former team picks him back up? And then puts him on waivers again? Something fishy there.

2012/12/06 Claimed by the Houston Astros off waivers from the New York Yankees.

Cv was actually proved to be pretty valuable the last couple of seasons. I don't blame him for leaving its the best move for his career. I think he can be a J.A happ type bottom of the rotation starter on an average team

Just needs a chance to show what he's got for a full year.

Next year there are no big time free agents, so he can get a nice haul. My guess is he would get a 1 year contract with a mutual option.

Wonder if the Cubs will try to move Garza now and run with Samardzija-Wood-Villanueva-Baker-Feldman

Yeah can't really blame him in this situation. He wasn't going to come back for a bullpen spot. Getting a chance to start even with a sad sack team as the Cubs is a no brainer.

I think its a good move on the Cubs part to sign CV who can start and also pitch important innings out of the pen. If he does not start the season in the rotation he will get many starts with Feldman and Baker coming on injuries and may not be ready for tons of innings.

Cubs are looking at extending Garza and solidify the top spot with him.

Ya that makes sense. SP get paid way more that RP and if he can have a decent season next year he'll get paid in 2013's offseason.

Nope, no blame or illfeeling on this situation. He found a team that will give him a chance to start and we have a better player to fill his spot as the long man anyway.
