Still upset over how much we gave up in this trade. Excited about having Dickey on the team and the great rotation we'll have but I can't believe we had to give up TDA and Syndergaard. What makes it even worse is that we're going to be stuck with JPA as out catcher which is just ugh.

This is what makes me upset the most. I can't stand seeing him strikeout every AB, swinging at pitches not even close to the plate.

Still time for more trades

Tough to say who I would consider contenders... But yeah I still say given all the moves we've made etc.. were probably in the bottom 1/3 of the league... but Id think were near the top amongst contenders.

Let's say:

Texas
LAA
LAD
NYY
SF
CIN
WSH

Texas is definitely first. I'd probably have the the Reds ahead of us too, and maybe the Nationals (I'm a big Rendon fan) although that's certainly arguable.

I'd say we're mid-pack, with the Giants (they'd probably be at the bottom of the three), the Nationals and us being the middle three, the Yankees and the Dodgers being the bottom two and the Reds and Rangers being the top two.

Just my opinion though.

Sign of an uneducated fan! :sarcasm: :naughty:

Hmm Jeff Blair with a interesting thought.
Not convinced Jays are done and not sure Rasmus wont be dealt.

Blair thinks Rasmus could be moved..Hmm says Gose could take over CF full time. Says AA is not done just yet.

Either way I'm happy. I think Gose is better than Colby now but another year in AAA could help him improve his bat.

But imo CF will be Gose's going forward.

You're right, you can always acquire TDAs, Syndergaards, so rebuilding the system to being at the top will be easy! :handclap:

Don't be an idiot, we have a 10th overall pick this year which basically guarantees us a top prospect! Baseball prospects are very sure things when you draft that high! :sarcasm:

Given what they've just acquired this past month, why would it not be possible?

This is the MLB. When you enter the "big boy's club" you don't develop players, you sign them when they've made it.

It's as easy as acquiring a Cy young winner.

Seriously, give to get folks. We depleted the top of the system, but we're one of the better teams in the league now and still don't have one of the worst prospect lists. Compare us to the Yankees, Angels, Dodgers, go go go.

With that in mind, we could very well draft a prospect in the 20th round and have him turn out to be the best thing ever.

"Jon Heyman ?@JonHeymanCBS
dickey agrees to donate 1 percent of his salary to jays charity. that's 300 grand by my calculation. very nice. #jays"

At the end of the day we still got a solid young core locked up, average/decent prospect pool and a #10 pick coming up. I'm not exactly weeping for the future here.

Well that's because in most cases for the average fan the future is always now.
