Who in the 2011 or 2012 classes have actually shown some good performance thus far? The reason they are still highly thought of is because many have little experience in pro ball and thus are still living off draft day hype.

there are quite a few international signing prospects progressing nicely without much hype.

I just stated the '11 draft has a lot of underachievers, but in '12 draft Stroman prior to ban was progressing well and DJ was showing he can get on base at a good clip through low ball. Stilson and Lopes are probably the guys that showed the most progression from the '11 draft, and I'm still banking on Norris, Anderson, Smith jr and Dean to improve.

We still haven't seen Smoral pitch or Nay hit yet with their injuries, but I'm fully confident that they'll do well in the low levels.

Funny in thinking about it but thats one thing I love about latin free agents. They are not "drafted" and thus the only ones you end up seeing respected are those who are performing and developing.

Edit: Just saw your post Elder lol, great minds.

2011 I'd say------

Christian Lopes
John Stilson
Kevin Pillar
Jorge Vega-Rosado

2012 I'd say------

DJ Davis
Chase Dejong
Marcus Stroman (arguably)

Thole caught Dickey 27 times last lear the other catcher we aquired caught Dickey 7 times.

Certainly seems like the Canadian guy is insurance against Thole getting hurt.

Whether it was too much or not it will be debated all winter. The philosophy of this team has changed. I'm not saying they should just give up anything to get Dickey but I am saying AA saw more value in moving these guys then waiting for them to produce on the Jays while Bautista and Edwin get older. Plus we don't even know how D'Arnaud and Syndergaard are going to be in the majors. So much unknown with them, D'Arnaud has already had two pretty significant injuries in his short pro career.

I agree to a certain extent, moving them before the Jays window closes is a smart thing to do. However I think they had more value than Dickey, I think the Jays could have gotten more, but hey AA knows more about that then me.

As for D'Arnaud though, he could have stepped in quite early this year and been better tha JPA, he could have been here while Bautista, EE, etc are in their prime, so I don't really agree that they had to seel him, he could have been part of a championship team in the very near future. Sydnergaard though I agree was kinda far away.

Deal as reported, Dickey C Josh Thole C Mike Nickeas to #Jays, C Travis d'Arnaud P Noah Syndergaard C John Buck OF Wuilmer Beccera to #Mets

I wasn't really in the camp that wanted to replace Lind, but I'll be honest...we've come this far, it might be time to look into upgrades - upgrades with a TON of pop in their bats please.

I still like the youth we have in the system. Sure its not longer a elite system and moreso middle of the pack but theres lots of potential.

The #10 pick and Franklin Baretto are exciting additions to the top 10.

Very exciting player.

Lots of talent deep in the minors, so if some of these guys start panning out, farm system becomes one of the tops again.

Look I admit it's a lot to give up, I was hoping it was JPA instead of D'Arnaud but man it's been so long since this team was a contender, I'm willing to accept the overpayment. I've always been a huge fan of Syndergaard, I've had him ahead of Sanchez since they were drafted. I was really surprised he was also added in. But like I said I'm ok with this move. I just want to see some playoff ball in this city.

It's hard not to be excited! Hopefully this team can win it all.

Sure AA put a major dent in the prospect pool, but its not like it has been completely gutted. Also have a #10 overall in the next draft.

Still upset over how much we gave up in this trade. Excited about having Dickey on the team and the great rotation we'll have but I can't believe we had to give up TDA and Syndergaard. What makes it even worse is that we're going to be stuck with JPA as out catcher which is just ugh.

The buzz around the Jays is crazy

Let's hope that translates into 3 Million+ Fans in the seats and not have everyone bail on the team at the first losing streak and call for AA's head for being so stupid lol.
