That wasn't my point at all, do you even read? I was replying to a post which was basically saying he was useless because he was down in the minors.
He's 17 there's a reason he's down in the minor, doesn't mean he sucks.
As for being upset we lost him I'm not. To be honest I didn't even know who he was. but when I say the proposed deal I didn't like it, I would have at least liked to have won the prospect deal which I don;'t think we did.
Clearly these prospects have some value to AA and the Mets GM or they wouldn't be in the deal, fans are allowed to comment about them too without getting a response such as the BS you've spewed to everyone who's been skeptical abput the deal.
He's a Cy Young winner, I guess we should sell the entire farm, that's the opinion you've had through this whole thing, fans are allowed to be skeptical, get over it
If you can find one person who made the claim that Travis D'Arnaud is expected to be the next Joe Mauer, I will give you a cookie.
I'm chalking this up to classic strawman though.
Not at all.
It basically works like this:
1) Make an argument.
2) See a troll response to said argument.
3) Ask poster to defend his response.
4) Poster says something like, "it's not worth it", which is pretty much translated as "I am in over my head".
5) Poster then proceeds to stick to his conviction with no clear substance.
What does this even mean in terms of the big picture?
For speaking the truth? Lol.
Alright, everyone has to see the irony in that.![]()
I'm happy the deal is done, but come on..... D'Arnaud should have been enough alone. So we're pretty much trading away Syndergaard, Buck, and Becerra for ****ing Thole.... My oh my. Why so much? Did they even negotiate or were the mets like "I want that guy, that guy, and oooohh him too! Oh... You can have Thole I guess..."
AA didn't sell the farm. I could go to our prospect list and give a run down on our current top 10 but I'm sure you've looked it over and made your opinion. How can someone argue with someone who's belief is that AA sold the farm for a CY Young Winner. Let's just forget the fact we still Sanchez, Nolin, Stroman, Osuna, Norris. Yeah we sold the farm..
R.A. Dickey @RADickey43
Looking forward to a new chapter with the Jays.
Which, since directed at me, if I was a ***** , I'd have reported myself because I found it insulting.Yea that I didn't get. The post he reported was only an insult if he admits his original post was an insult.![]()
We traded half our top 10 this winter. We didn't sell the farm but we did heavily deplete it.
I'm not sure about you guys... or if someone is willing to do this when the time comes...
But I'd be willing to wager that in comparison to the other "Contending teams" in the MLB right now, we've still got one of if not the best farm system.
Yeah and you don't think while we're contending we won't be replenishing that. Teams are allowed to contend and draft and develop haha
Woah, definitely not. Not even close. I'd say we'd be lucky to be top-20. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if we were bottom-10 now.
I'm not complaining (although I do believe this most recent deal was an overpayment), as our major-league team has obviously improved substantially, I'm just saying that the Jays most definitely don't have the best farm system in the league. They arguably didn't have the best farm system before the Miami trade. Factor in the Miami trade and this trade, and I'd be ecstatic if we were still top-20.
I would say he has proven he milked the old CBA quite well, we will not be able to draft talent like we did since they closed the loophole on us.
