I was quite surprised when I found out mid way through the game that a child designed them. I liked them to begin with, so that's pretty impressive. I didn't get "future" vibes though, I got very mid-to-late 90s vibe, with part of it sort of reminding me of the local Road Breakers street hockey tournaments. Kind of cool it felt like that considering the kid would have no point of reference for what the 90s 'felt' like.
What was the theme or reason for the jersey design?

It is a partnership with Real Canadian Super Store where kids can submit jersey designs and the winning one gets to have their jersey used for one game. This is the 4th year the rangers have done it. It was also the next gen game yesterday.

London plays again today. Hopefully we can take advantage of a bit of fatigue?
Knights travelling to Erie today and back home tomorrow for 3rd game of a 3 in 3. Fatigue very likely will be an issue. Another 3 in 3 next weekend. The downside of playing out of a busy arena.
Does the Aud not host a lot of events? I may be wrong but my impression is that the Rangers don't seem to play as many 3 in 3s as most teams??

I agree on the Arquette comments. He is likely Ranger's most improved this year. His shot is sneaky good. Was a little surprised when they announced his first goal last night as his 6th on the season. He should be a 20 goal guy next year with more ice time and a bigger role.

The luxury of having full buildings allowed for what was once unconventional Tuesday night games.

Years ago, pre Steve B era, it was Friday & Sunday and no other day for a home game save for the rare Saturday afternoon Global game if the week or a New Year’s Day game.

For every Tuesday night home game, you have one less three in three. Any drop off in attendance those Tuesday nights is mitigated by having big draws as the opponent (that’s why most London visits are on Tuesday nights) and the Teddy Bear game.

And no, our calendar at the Aud isn’t near as booked up as other bigger buildings. That allows for 7 or 8 Tuesday games per year.

We have played more games than anyone in the West. Benefit from that is over the last 4 weeks, we only play 11 times, Windsor 13 and London 15. That could mean fresher, healthier bodies come playoff time. 🤞

Plus only 4 on the road and the farthest they go is OS. Should be able to rest a few guys at the end of the season, if they think that is helpful.

London didn't even bring Medvedev to Erie so unless he tweaked something and won't play tomorrow he has been resting in London by the looks of it.

Planned rest, Knights have been doing this for quite sometime now. Callup a kid from Jr B on a 3 in 3 and leave the starter of Game 3 at home. Physically avoids the bus trip and sitting on the bench all game. As long as your starter stays healthy it's a solid plan. He should be fresh for the Rangers and I'm sure the tired defenseman are grateful.

First off not questioning the return you got as I think the trade was a very solid one for the Rangers, nor am I suggesting the trade shouldn't have been made. But do you think if MM knew at the time he had such a strong team this season (Incredible Goaltending, Exceptional Coaching, Talented Roster) would he make the Carson Rephkof (SP? sorry Carson) trade with the Steelheads before the season got going? Should he perhaps have gone the more traditional route and traded him closer to the deadline where he could have evaluated the team's level of performance? Hindsight of course would have been very valuable in this case!

Just curious what you all think. Cheers see ya tomorrow.

She's 5 years old and "designed" a jersey with cracked ice and the Rangers logo on the front and the cracked glass carried over to the back. I'm sure mommy and daddy "helped" her with it. One of the nicest ones I've seen and IMHO should be the 3rd jersey. Time to retire the Kitchener Militia Men one.

PS Her favourite player is Ando who of course, came over for the puck drop. She was thrilled and even more so when he gave her the puck then kneeled to give her a hug. Nice job Ando. Fans come in all ages and sizes.

Fortunately for the Rangers, MM didn't know the team would be as strong as it is. Many of us on the Boards had the team in the bottom of the pile in a rebuild year. But even before Pridham, Humphries, and Ellis, Jussi and his coaching team had the boys locked into the culture and system.

I personally didn't miss Rehkopf and the trade brought in much needed picks for the cupboard. By Christmas, we all wondered if there would be more trades (ie Ando etc) but MM didn't go in that direction. I have to wonder if he would have kept Rehkopf too instead of trading him. That would have been disastrous for the cupboard!

At this point in the year, particularly when a team can't really move up or down in the standings (technically they can, realistically Erie/Saginaw aren't catching the Rangers, realistically Rangers aren't catching the Knights), I worry about complacency creeping in. We saw that last weekend against some lesser opponents. They had a good response on Friday against a very good Barrie Colts team, I'm looking for a strong effort today against the Knights. Doesn't have to be a win, it needs to be a full team effort.

With 11 games left and our place in 3rd virtually locked up, I'll be paying more attention to HOW they play, than I do the outcome.

We went into this year the same way we went into last year. Expecting to be rebuilding. But, it got to the point last year where MM felt he couldn’t sell. So we wound up further depleting the draft cupboard with the Sale trade.

I believe this year, again going into a rebuild season, MM had an offer he couldn’t refuse for Rehkopf. I figure he assumed that he would not get that return or more at the deadline, so in a rebuild season, he felt it was the time to strike.

Also, it can’t be ignored that us making the Rehkopf trade may have had something to do with us having the inside track on Valentini. We don’t make the Rehkopf trade, maybe Valentini goes to another team. It doesn’t seem like a big deal right now, but if he reports, we will have acquired one of the top picks in the 2024 draft on the very cheap.

I also believe, that it’s highly likely that if he did not make the Rehkopf deal, we’d find ourselves at least as good as we are right now this season and probably much better. With the influx of players, thanks to the Agreement, we’d still stand pat at the deadline, or at most, deal a younger player or two to recoup at least a couple picks for the next draft.

The same logic that went into us not selling off veteran players at this deadline would be the same whether or not Rehkopf is a Ranger, because of our record.

Not lost on me is the fact that we are short a top end LW among our top six. Rehkopf would’ve filled that need. But Sale may have as well. Did MM feel comfortable making the Rehkopf deal because he expected Sale to be returned? Maybe.

As an aside, what was the real reason Sale would only accept a trade to Kitchener last year? Was it because Rehkopf was here and both being Seattle draft picks he and his camp and maybe the Kraken saw a situation where he would develop better with Rehkopf?Who knows? Had we not dealt Rehkopf and Sale is in the position he is in now in Coachella (fourth line, minor minute duty), maybe the Kraken sends him back here to play with Rehkopf to finish out the season? A reach to be sure.

Sure, no Rehkopf trade and standing pat this year leaves us with a near empty draft pick cupboard. But we’d have enough returning assets in the off-season to mitigate that going forward. I think MM would’ve taken that risk. He could’ve done a trade week deal for picks the same way he did to pick up the second round pick we used to select Tanner Lam, then worry about subsequent draft seasons, as they come. With this agreement, and the strength of the last couple drafts, MM would likely have pushed his chips all the way in believing that we could still contend the next couple years without needing a full cupboard.

If Valentini reports, that would be a major chip that we would not have to be trading for the next couple seasons. And if he does not report, conditions on the trade are such, that the picks we sent to the Steelheads for his rights, would be in play for the 27 deadline.
